Thought in the first half that It was going to be like last year there. Second half we finally showed up l thought Lemina was great along with Armstrong but to many others back to old ways especially JWP and thought Hojbjerg was way of his game getting caught with the ball to much. And why do we take for ever to take a throw in every game, Going forward in the first half was awful to watch the good news Ralph saw the problems and fixed it for the second half shame we started so bad.

Total shambles. We missed Vestergaard today Stephens was useless.

4-4-2 v Newcastle from the first minute. We don't have the playing staff to understand anything but 4-4-4-2. Leave the experiments to pre season. Disappointed, but not surprised. Post season will bring a few new signings. Right?

Bad defending for the first 2 goals in a shitty first half performance by Saints, where we couldn´t get foot hold and keep the ball in the team.. Much better second half and - in particular - an inspirational second half performance by substitute and goal scorer Mario Lemina. We created good chances in the second half but couldn´t convert them.
On the whole a disappointing afternoon after 5 good matches with 3 wins and narrow defeats to Man. U. and Liverpool. Our 4 man midfield (PEH, Romeu, JWP and Bertrand) totally lost the midfield battle in the first half..
We missed Valery, JWP didn´t have a good game as RWB. We also missed Vestergaard who would have been a bigger task for Rondon than Stephens.
We should have decoded our opponent better beforehand and played Stephens as RB and played Lemina from the start with a very solid , physical midfield.

I did worry beforehand about playing jwp in that position . We looked lightweight.
At least we went for it in the second half played a lot better and could have nicked a point with a bit of luck and better finishing .
Rather lose 3-1 if we have at least had a go, than 2-0 damage limitation .

Too many of our players thinking of the beach. Ralph's team selection all wrong again. Glad when this miserable season is over. Hard to pick a man of the match as nobody played well or as if they even cared about the outcome. Feel sorry for the 1700 who gave up their weekend to watch this dross.

We are staying up, we are staying up! We are making very hard work of it and may just need something from the Huddersfield game to survive. That was Newcastle we lost too. They are not very good either.

We were at our worst in the first half - our one good CB was playing out of position and the whole thing was embarrassing. That was moderate, competent pressure from a lower-middle table side and we miserably failed to cope with it. Second half with 4 at the back we won the midfield and with a more potent attacking force we may have got a point or more. Yoshi was appalling (sorry - he was) and Stephens shouldn't have been playing, also JWP as right-back??

At least there will be absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind where we need to strengthen. I wonder how many points we have thrown away in recent seasons due to our poor purchases of defenders? Obviously a healthy goalscorer also needed...
