Should have tried harder to keep Cedric or bought RB that is Fit to play. Prowse is to slow to play at RB this showed yesterday. Lets hope Armstrong gets fit soon as we missed him big time yesterday.

Just was not getting rub of the green. VVD made all the difference with the service to Salah. Adams again showed promise in the short time on the field: just an unlucky boy. Recharge batteries for Burnley and put this behind us COYR

Thanks for your support Hythe but I do rely on the negative votes from the blinkered saps on here to confirm that my judgement is spot on.

Very good performance particularly first half. I thought JWP made a good fist at playing RB. Liverpool were trying really hard to expose his lack of pace with countless balls over the top for Robertson to chase.
The fact they didn't score from any of these, although they got behind us a few times, is testament to good defending.
Unlucky with the first goal but maybe a bit of a mental pause, hoping for the penalty, was our downfall. Second goal well worked, after another long ball clearance & from there Liverpool took over, we pushed forward looking for a goal and left gaps that their pace exploited quite easily.
No shame losing to this Liverpool side but we will miss JWP's influence in midfield on Wednesday if he is forced to play in defence again.
As an aside I loved the Lovren song, even if it was a bit strong considering the amount of kids at the game!

The battle of the the have's and have nots?
One manager allowed to create the best squad in the world, the other barely allowed to make one or two additions to his team that could ensure safety. How far we have come? Has it ever been so?
A 'battling' performance with an inevitable outcome.
One day this club will manage to coincide an obviously shrewd manager with a shrewd board or owner -here's hoping.
Well done manager, team and fans, still believe we can take those NLY on Wednesday.

Battling first half performance. Could have been 2 nil up. A great watch. Saints played extremely well. Just was not getting rub of the green. Very good performance. Well done manager, team and fans.

This is what you saps actually wrote about losing 4-0. Couldn't make it up.

Once again our inability to defend for 90 mins was our undoing. I would score the side 8 out of 10 for the first 70 mins but only 4 out of 10 for the last 20. We are so much better when going forwards that it is our best form of defence, so as soon as Ings scored we sat back to defend the lead which we cannot do. The spaces in and around the centre backs were huge and made easy pickings for good passes and cleaver runs. The subs offered little when they came on. Overall encouraging performance but ultimately disappointing- sums up the life of a saints fan!

Another game that shows just why we should have bought in some better defenders in the transfer window. Son was left unmarked all night. Our squad is so short in defence that we had to start Prowse at right back. To make things worse he got injured and is not likely to play the next game along with Bednarek who will be banned. We have no cover in defence and who will play their in the next game is any ones guess.

Var didn't do us any favours when son done a scene from swan lake.
Defence so bad in the final 20 gaps everywhere sitting deep and the serious lack of options at the back to call upon
