We got 3pts but we make hard work to get them. Valery needs to be on the bench for a while and get Cedric in for a start.Confusing line up to start with and we rode our luck for a time,Boufal looked good along with Djenepo they look like a real threat.Wish Redmond would pass to his teammates instead of giving the ball away to much, still he did get on the score sheet.l agree lngs needs to be rested did very little to warrant starting .

Two great performances by the subs. Great strike by Moussa and mesmerising runs from Sofiane. A little disappointed with Hojbjerg who hasn't reached last seasons standard I agree that JWP and Ings had low average games.
We gave Danso a start and he played well out of position, it may be a while before he plays as a CB, difficult to judge, we will have to rely on Hutch's assessment.
We must persevere with Valery, he hasn't cost us goals yet as Cedric regularly did, tho again it wasn't his best day.
The main point is that we are now off and running, a certain three points next week and we will be in the top half of the table.

Credit to Hutch for re-integrating Sofiane Boufal and bringing in Djenepo, discredit to Hutch for a lousy team selection that would have cost us dearly but for the red card and sticking with players like Ings who never deliver and Ward Drowse who seems to have no clear position that he can nail down. Ref good today.

As nail-biting an event as expected. The match was played in a pretty high tempo and Brighton were good value for their money. Much more of a ball playing side than under Hughton. Saints managed to keep up with the tempo and things were pretty even when Andone made that maniac tackle just below Valery´s right knee, which took an awkward twist , and for a moment I geared the worst. Andone - the SoB - was sent off of course and the numerical advantage soon showed. Brighton were still figting to get something out of the game, but in the 54.thn minute Ralph H. put on Djenepo, and it didn´t take him more than a minute to to make 2 dribbles from the left side towards the middle where he found enough space to pull the tricker and fire a fierce shot from which the ball took a trajectory towards the far, upper corner. BANG. 1-0.
Later Boufal was sent on and he succeeded in taking the ball to the by line in the left side whereafter he sent a hard, precise, low ball across the face of goal past the keeper, which Redmond managed to put his right food to, which meant that the ball was hammered into the middle of the goal. 2-0. Game over. 3 points in the bank.
GREAT FEELING. :) <3

Another game that was hard to judge - we were never under pressure from Brum but how much was down to our play and how much down to an appalling display by the visitors.
I welcomed the swift slick passing of the second half but am still worriesd at the amount of possession coughed up by our fullbacks and midfield, pariculalry in the first half.

Very much a game of two halves. Best we forget about the first. Dreadful finishing, why haven't we hired Ricky Lambert to show them how it should be done. Ings does not convince, the more he plays the worse he seems to get. Needs to get his head sorted out. Lucky for him that Adams still has a lot to learn.

Truly awful 1st half against Fulham Reserves, with no pressing, ball retention, possession or decent passing.

Much improved 2nd half, but still need to take out chances - should have scored 5.

Hope Redmond is ok for Saturday.

SaintBrock, have you watched the first goal at Brighton on Saturday on TV, if not do so and then talk to me about who created the goal

He may convince you Nick but he does not convince me. His job is to put the ball in the net not provide assists for others. If he does both then fine but he does not.

Wrong starting 11 again. Wrong tactics again. What will we get on Saturday, it's anyone's guess.
