Very strange starting lineup. Utter shambles first half. Team changes at half time gave us a better shape and we were by far the better team

Referee was dire after giving a penalty for a slight push he then ignore blantent two handed pushes

Wall to wall crap from a shower of San Spotty Softies......outmuscled and outplayed from 1st minute.

Players are robbing a living from the Club with that performance......."hang your heads" loosers.

Oh,and the Chippy was shut!!!!

From the moment I read the starting line up it was looking bleak. The only senior player was Routledge and our left side comprised James as a wing back ahead of Harris and CVC.
Players looked depressed even before kick off.
TBH we were very fortunate to be only 2 goals down at half time. That said we got mugged by. dodgy referee (with form at the Liberty) and a Wigan side that gave snowflakes a bad name.

Sadly John Swift was the best player on the park today although like Barry Bannon nothing to show for all his pass ratio

Scowen + Cousins (esp the latter) were v disappointing. Obviously had a clear message at half time as both booked in first few minutes of second half. Many are suggesting Lumley as MotM, which is fair enough, but his distribution is erratic. Although we could have won it at the end, we were outplayed for long periods. Agree completely about the subs. It looks like McClaren didn't have confidence in them and although the team did improve for the last quarter using subs earlier would have given them a positive message and been a warning to any players not putting in a shift.

Thought it would be 0-10 minimum so not a bad result in the end. Also a shop window for JWP to get the hell out of here in Jan along with Elyounoussi, Long, Lemina, Targett, Cedric, Hoedt, Austin and Romeu. Have I forgotten anyone?

Time to rest McCarthy , give Gunn or Forster a chance too many goals going in that he should really of saved.

The line up was wrong to begin with, although we did look tired the other night so I understand why. Did not expect to win but At least we drew the second half .

Fed up with refs, in the last two games they were getting coached by the opposition FFS.
Great goal by PEH.
Let's get a win at Chelsea

Terrible game Man City had 77% Possession. The starting line up was useless why were so many 1st team players rested. This game showed why JWP should not play he took a dive to try and get a pen then scores an own goal. Dave merrington said on radio Solent this was the worst game he had seen Saints play this season. With out Alex McCarthy in goal Man City would have scored 7 or 8. We need a major clear out in January starting with JWP, Stephens, Austin, Elyounoussi, Lemina, Davis, Hoedt, Gallagher and Long. Then we need to buy 4 or 5 good players. We should be matching West Ham spending £40 million on a striker.

Difficult one. To my mind Ralph had obviously decided that we were going to probably get nothing out of this game so decided to rest a few players and play a few youngsters. Fair enough, it's about staying up this season and you don't have to win every game to do that.

Inability to defend a header in the box did for us. The third goal was a duffer too. We were up against it for most of the game but had a short spell when we looked good.

Ely's (aside from that beautiful ball to Austin) first touch was abysmal and Lemina didn't look like he had come back from his holiday. Aguero showed Austin what a striker is supposed to do with half a chance. Stonking goal from PEH, shame about the mad challenge though.

Long probably needs to be moved on in January, Lemina, Austin also if we need a bit of dosh.
