I still worry about our defence and think nick was right and our priority should have been a c/b in the transfer window

A much needed result, at least we set out a team that on paper looked like being able to score some goals. We still looked a bit soft in the middle of defense but managed to hold on.Overall l was pleased with the effort from us today and have to give props to the manager this time around.Next week will be a good test to see if we can carry this form forward, Carrillo look to be a good addition so onward and upward.

so right about cb, Stephens got brushed off the ball so easily for thier goal, just as Spurs did to him at corners.
Very soon every team will suss this, if they havent already.

Many will think that this result makes The Clown safe but I have a hunch it will do just the opposite. Having delivered a scraped win after dominating much of the match and improved team morale now is the time I suspect that the board will act.

Don't be at all surprised if they sack him on Monday and a new manager comes in to take over a buoyant team after a win and in a very good mood to go out and tackle the Scousers. The new manager won't have time to get to know his team before next Sunday so the same team can trot out and the new guy can play around with details on field. If we lose so be it there guy will be blameless and have a little more time to settle in and impart his ideas before the winnable matches come along.

Also, Adam Blackmore is the most useless commentator I have ever heard, spends all his time opionating and getting distracted by "Dave's" endless repetitions thereby missing 90% of the action, forgetting that we radio listeners haven't a clue what's going on on the pitch.

As pleased as I was with the result, I don’t think it hides the underlying problems. The players seemed to want to be there today but WBA are almost certainly going down, so next week’s match will be totally different. The one positive I can see is that if MP keeps the same team, then we will go into that match with some confidence. Having said that, I fear that Liverpool will run riot if our defence doesn’t perform at 100%.

3 points and a clean sheet - that will do!

Finally MP got a starting lineup right - and look what a difference that makes. I also agreed with the Subs, I maybe would have brought Hojbjerg 6-7 minutes earlier...

Lemina was his usual self, played incredibly dominant and assured. Like he did before he was injured and benched for a reason only MP knows. Lemina for sure again proved the manager how wrong it is to not Play him.

Though Stephen's Goal was a great Header, our CD obvously still is the main concern. We were crying out loud for a new one, but somehow we weren't even linked with anybody. It's a bit frustrating that it seems the board and/or the Manager don't seem to see this.

A good win with some good Goals, but well, it was nervy in the end, Bertrand could have given away a Penalty and we gave them some free kicks from very good positions. In the end it was a much needed win, but no reason to get carried away now - as it was a narrow win against the last-placed Team.

It does make a big difference which People MP puts out there. So hopefully he will make less mistakes now - and hopefully he learned that he might read here in the Forum the next time he is clueless again...

Great win and a great game to watch. What worries me is you just have to lump it in the corridor of uncertainty and we will ship goals. Stephens made up for his error though. Worth remembering that West Brom are terrible. So we have beaten West Brom twice, Everton when they were terrible, Palace when they were terrible and West Ham when they were having a poor start. Hopefully there are 3 teams worse than us.

A very disappointing start, but Saints hel don and moved up a gear after the first 20 minutes.
All the goals were excellent in their own way. Lemina looked like a class act(at last). Jack Stephens must be the cheapest CB we've ever bought, and his two loan seasons away really have benefited him greatly.
Prowsie doing what he does best , and can it be he's actually found a role in the team - at last?
An excellent performance - and at the right time.

Can't say that West Brom. were a bad side, they looked good at times but (as we know ourselves) when things aren't going well - everything seems to be against you.
