If Canas had put in some of the performances Leon did last year someone would have probably assaulted him by now.
He was the scapegoat for last season no doubt. While he isn't a starter he certainly isn't as bad as many make out. He reminds me of Tiendali. He does his duties to a 6/10 standard every game and that is all you can expect from a 2nd / 3rd choice player. |  |

I would'nt be suprised truth be told. He is a decent player and monk could surely see a player like him was missed against burnley second half.
It makes sense for both to kiss and make up. Villa Are using the likes of hutton,nzogbia and bent after they were frozon out, its daft to sit 20k a week in the stands when its needed on the pitch.
I dont buy into the fact he is a massive problem off the field i Think its more of a respect thing for things that went on when laudrup was here, thats done and duster now and both men need to wise up and move forward. |

He would have done a job for us on Saturday if he'd come on against Burnley.
People on this site have taken a dislike to him mainly as he was the main competition to Leon. Would the same happen to Stambouli if we signed him? We are at the moment trying to fit square pegs into round holes by playing JJS there. |  | | |

With the latest news that Leon has a stress fracture and could be out for months, I don't think it is subversive to say that we need to do something. This could involve building bridges with Canas, but also in my view getting in at least one more specialist DM. Part of management is knowing when to kiss and make up and move on, i feel we should be using canas to close games while putting him in the shop window at the same time .
Ive never seen canas give less than 100% on the field so im sure despite personal differences he can be used effectively .
If he was refusing to play we would be witholding his money and i dont Think thats the case .
Curing the headache by cutting off the head springa to mind, we needed a player like him against burnley 2nd half, as ki and shelvey stopped running and closing down the spaces, we lucked out with the result but questions would have been Asked if we bles the game.
Both sides need to Find a solution for the better of SCFC. IMO . |

We are short on players and need a hard working player in his position
Not sure on whats gone on but surley as we need a player in his mold then sit him down and talk to him.
We will lose points because we lack a player like him to close off a game.

Yep 2 and 3 seem about right
Although if you listen to one particular professional new regime apologist (and they meant this as a compliment to Laudrup apparently  ) Canas is a subversive who had also fallen out with Laudrup! and who no manager could possibly manage.
IMHO he is a hard working, happy and friendly team member with obvious talent (as identified by others on this thread) who had a better pass completion record than Leon. His error standing up for another team member against a member of the preferentially treated coup d'etat clique. |  | | |
