Safety mark this season? 16:17 - Feb 5 with 1323 viewsCopperJack

Just looked at our remaining fixtures and I can't see us reaching the hallowed 40 point mark. So, given the fact that the bottom 4 teams all seem to have found some form, what do we think the safety mark is this season?

After Chelsea we have burnley hull bourmouth Middlesbrough, if we can keep our current form I would hope we could get 7-9 points from those run of games.

37 points. 5 more wins and a couple of draws needs.

I think it will be 39/40 unfortunately

36 to 38 and we need at least 4 more wins.

There'll also be some strange games towards the end of the season with some teams having nothing to play for etc. Always handy to pick up an unexpected one.

If we can beat Leicester we'll put ourselves well on the front foot in our battle to stay up.

38 is pretty much proven. This year the bottom six have less points than ever, and they aren't all going on runs. 36 may well be enough. I think 37 certainly would be, but truth is, who knows? Just got to do better than the bucket of shit around us.

We have enough games that we are capable of getting results in the form that we are starting to show.

Nothing is a given in football, but I can see us getting 37 to 40 points, given slightly the bounce of the ball.

We'll probably need an extra point due to our goal difference so suspect 38+ will be enough, that said I think we'll be able to reassess more accurately after the 'Boro match - for me we need to be around the 29/39 mark going into those last 8 matches.

There are currently 6 teams with less than a point a game.

38 will be enough to stay up.
37 would be ok except for GD.

Looks like 35 - 36 now. The bottom clubs are all picking up points though as as a result of the window. If the bottom 3 get out if trouble and others get dragged in then it could be even higher. Still we are in as a good a position as any of em.

No super computers expected us and Hull to beat Liverpool.

Bottoms teams all finding form even against the top 6

Yes but with most bottom half sides playing each they can't both have 3 points, so 39/40 seems a long way off.

24 games gone and 3 sides on 20 or less.
But the bottom sides nearly always pick up towards the end especially against the middle sides.
I think we need 38 just need to be safe before the last game.

No chance we will need that many. No chance at all. You're talking about at least 3 of the teams in the bottom 6 picking up 18/19 points.

36 WILL BE sufficient. Possibly 1 or 2 less
