My lad is one of the mascots on boxing day.

So we will be arriving early and swapping our usual bovril in the south stand for some hospitality and hanging out with big nobs in the west

Does anybody who has experienced it have any hints and tips on how to get the most out of the day?

Make sure the players don’t walk past without acknowledging your son is there.

Does my head in when I see players walking past the mascots and ignoring them.

Darran sits in the West but doesn't have a big nob.

It's likely his current favourite player, Celina, will be on the bench anyway.

Yeah, i know what you mean, but what do expect Sherps to do about it? Grab them by the throat and say "Don't fvckin ignore my son!"

Yep. He’s probably paid enough for the privilege.

No advice really, other than have a good one and savour the experience. YJBs!

If there are two of you, get one to film the walk out from the side and one above, very different perspectives.
Get your own captains pictures from above the tunnel before kick off, official pics ok but we got better ones.
Get someone pitchside for the "skills training" we didn't bother, stayed in the bar, but again, reckon we could have got some more personal ones than the official photographer
Finally, if your mascot has a favourite player that they want to walk out with, give them some coaching in how to muscle in on their pick as the "handlers" are not allowed in the tunnel pre kick off and it's a bit of a bunfight for who walks out with who.
Mostly enjoy the experience, I have done it with 3 grandkids and to anyone who thinks the half time penalties are a waste of time, think again, its possibly the single most important bit to the kids.
Merry Christmas everyone.⚽️⚽️

Well, we had a great day.

My boy loved it, meeting and shaking hands with the team and Graham Potter, getting complimented on his skills by the community coaches, walking out with Connor Roberts and most of all absolutely nailing his half time penalty.

Special mention to Vic Gomersall, it's incredible the years he has put into youth football in Swansea,,still going strong and a brilliant host.
