He's a very good player as he showed in his first spell at Swansea.
What impressed me most last night was his work rate when the team were out of possession and / or defending. That might be expected but Ayew can be a law unto himself, a bit of a "luxury player" almost so that was good to see.
But chaps don't get carried away. That was not a convincing performance. Great result but we didn't look too good for large parts of that game and for too long in that second half couldn't get out. Some moments of quality from Ayew and a stupid challenge from them to concede a penalty. And re Baston I must have watched a different game as he did nothing. Didn't notice he was playing until just before half time lol. |

I thought we were the better team in the first half.
Second half they came at us and we had to dig in to get a result. And still won 3-1.
Really, really impressive.
On Ayew, he's obviously too good for this league. Lets hope we can keep him for the season. [Post edited 22 Aug 2019 10:08]

I hoped he’d start with the side that did so well to come back against PNE and I was happy to see him do just that . Unlike Potter he’s got to grips with the squad almost immediately and knows his strongest side. I used to get so fed up with Potters often perplexing line ups so I’m enjoying Coopers more consistent approach. | |

Both told they weren't wanted and may opt to move.
At present the bonkers price we got for McBurnie and James mean we can keep Borja and Ayew and review the situation in January.

They both will want out if they get anything they think is a better offer and they will be allowed to go. That is the reality. Some short term low probability pain (having them certainly gets nowhere near guaranteeing even a play off lottery place) for the certainty of optimising medium term financial stability would be a no brainier for the financial imperatives that now drive the the club’s decision makers.
Note I don’t want them to go, I’d rather we give it the best lash we can as long as we are not in any financial danger through keeping them.
