I’ve lost count of the times I’ve heard today that women are are catching up with men in sport.
What a load of bollox it’s Darts for fuçk sake.
Can you image the carnage if it was a proper sport with men v women?

Absolute nonsense.

There was one huge advantage for male darters when I was your age, women weren’t allowed in the bar.

Civilised times, son.

Ah the good old days where gender fluid was a whole different meaning.

The hand-wringers on here are going to love this.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

It’s not whether women are physically capable of playing darts as well as men or not, it’s the fact they haven’t been allowed to enter tournaments like this historically.

They haven’t been exposed to the same level of competition and few, if any of them, will have been able to make a living out of it because the prize money wouldn’t have been there. Therefore, the participation levels and standards are bound to have been lower. Going forward, if the top women are entered into prestigious tournaments, the standard will improve and no one will notice when they beat men.

But I get the point, a woman beating a man at darts isn’t the same as a women beating a man at boxing.

I was on for a 147 once, however, I missed the first red

Fair play. Suljovic got the scores but Sherrock took out the doubles. Only five darts missed at a finish.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

She was tremendous hitting her doubles last night and what a great way to win by hitting a bullseye.

Tennis is the best sport for women,

Same prize money as men for less sets

Even average players who never win a major can make 20 million

There are only four tournaments a year where women play fewer sets than men.

I would rather watch an entertaining football match that lasts an hour than a tedious one that lasts for 90 minutes.

Apart from Olympic years but I think that’s changing.

Partly. The only men’s game in the Olympic tennis tournament played over five sets is the final.

Agreed. The gender pay gap in tennis is shocking. Not often you get paid more pro-rata for a sub standard product. Either increase the men's prize pools or have the women play 5 sets in grand slams

Interesting thought that. I wonder which is the easiest?

I've done a 147+ dart checkout from 501 on many occasions.

I've yet to manage a 9 break in snooker.

Poll: Your favourite ever Swans shirt sponsor?

They are both achievements, the snooker one is statistically a bit harder due to it taking 36 shots, the 9 darter is obviously 9 throws, but interestingly its not 4 times easier some say about twice as easy but I would not be surprised if it was not quite as easy as 2 times.

What about 1001 straight start double to finish that would be more like it and more equal, but the 17 darter 1001 might well be more difficult then 147 snooker break.

Paddy Power have a market in their Darts Specials...for her to make the cut to the Premier League of Darts...at 4/1. It's a very good bet. It would be a perfect marketing exercise to put her in....

The 155 break in snooker is still the hardest. It's never been completed in a professional tournament!!

Only because it’s incredibly unlikely to leave a free ball when there are 15 reds on the table.

The 155 is a bit of a joke in this context as it takes an exceptional circumstance for the opportunity to arise I would say if that circumstance does arrive [which it rarely does for a top pro ] then it would be no more than fractionally more difficult than a 147, 2 extra pots but a free ball to start.
The circumstances hardly ever occur for the 155 chance to happen.

That’s a great bet. As you say she’s a marketing dream. Only worry they’d have is her getting tanked nearly every week, which may well happen if she’s up against the very elite.

You’d think a nine dart finish would be far more common as the top players regularly hit 180’s, you only need two of them and it’s on.

Short format of the PL would suit her , it's the longer games in today's game and onwards that could catch her out.
