I was a bit wary of posting it, to be honest. I’m sure some will be offended but I think it’s a discussion worth having.

Some of those scenes are concerning.

I have to admit, when I first heard of this 'clap for the NHS' thing, I thought it was a nice show of respect. I was quite surprised though when I was told that it was going to happen EVERY week. At what point do we stop clapping, when the lockdown finally ends? When the pandemic ends? Any idea?!

It's getting literally millions out onto their doorsteps and out into crowded areas where they are clearly not 2m apart (as that clip shows). Think of all of the instances where neighbours have got chatting and begin to get closer than they should be. Especially communities with a lot of terraced housing.

Obviously I massively appreciate the NHS and maybe it is a good thing to get people out of their houses and talking to each other...you just see some scenes and think, is that really a good idea at the moment?

I'm all for people clapping for the NHS, I have family directly involved, just be sensible about it.

Certainly keep your distance from non family, unfortunately it seems even NHS workers don't always seem to get it...

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Very valid opinion. I have been clapping but is the affect on staff the same as the weeks go on. I do think that some just do it now as it's visible support , but when to stop is the awkward question

The clapping on the doorstep is in danger of falling into the virtue signalling bracket now. Some people are choosing to use it against those that don't participate (for whatever reason). You see it over social media, "so and so from number 45 weren't out, what a bunch of uncaring scumbags etc etc".

People are too interested in trying to prove that they care more than the next person. It's very odd behaviour, and first come to prominence after Lady Di shuffled off the earth.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I wonder what the Met Police Commissioner will do about this?

My guess is not much, considering she was on the bridge herself, clapping along whilst making sure she was photographed and making the most out of the opportunity for her self promotion.

Hopefully she's sacked in the coming days.

She should have been sacked for refusing to properly investigate Prince Andrew. This is yet another display of absolute absence of judgement.

In reality its mostly impossible to social distance where I work and for other key workers including in the NHS. We're eating lunch in our cars at the moment as the canteen is not big enough.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I had that off my Mrs last night.

“Are you coming out to clap?”

“No”

“Why?”

“Done it for the last few weeks, getting a bit meaningless now.”

“Miserable tw@t”

“Yeah”.

I'm with you on that. Doing it once and then maybe having a special even when we are through this yes. Having this every week just belittles it to me. It becomes the norm, becomes nothing special. Worse still it encourages the kind of scenes posted above which encourages dangerous behaviour.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
