People believe what they want to believe, if a poll matches their views it becomes a fact.
That said it is generally accepted there was a massive difference in voting patterns by the different age groups with older people much more likely to choose leave and vice versa.
But WTF does it matter now, we have officially left. The only sensible thing to do now is for those remainers to look to the future and see if there is an appetite for an application to rejoin, depending on the situation. Covid-19 has made the future much less certain and it wasn't very certain to start with! | |

The vote was 52% to 48%, which was a difference of hundreds of thousands, perhaps more, and thankfully Covid-19 hasn't killed that many and hopefully will not. Like you say, it's irrelevant anyway because the decision has been made and will be abided by no matter how people voted.
But surely there has got to be a delay. Any civil servant in the UK and their equivalent in Brussels who is still working on Brexit is wasting their time and should be re-assigned to dealing with the results of Covid-19. Declare a moratorium (is that the correct word?) and continue next year.
Admittedly that means that we'll still be paying into the EU Budget without any say in how the money is allocated but that's the least of our troubles. |  |

Especially when they were banging on about “educational attainment” as a measure of intelligence when the fact is thirty or forty years ago the majority of people didn’t go to university, they got an apprenticeship or went into a trade. Whereas nowadays everyone can go to university and get a degree in gender studies or a masters in Klingon. | |
