Has the world been conned over COVID-19? 09:53 - Dec 13 with 33384 viewsA_Fans_Dad

The actions of Governments all over the world are shaped on the basis of the PCR COVID test results.
For months now there have been serious question marks over the accuracy of the tests.
Well now there is a definitive study on the original research and it's world wide adoption which is totally condemning.

https://www.globalresearch.ca/

This does not decry the deaths that occur with COVID-19, but there are also many questions over the counting of them as well.

Deaths today in Sweden 17 and nearly 600 here, same old story day after day month after month, you must see these figures every day and think blimey its taking them months to publish the back date figures i saw on a few of my charts, anyway what you think of the lives they have saved by continuing normal medical procedures you never mention that statistic, goes over your head no doubt or surely you would have found some chart out there you to try and convince us that is false as well.

Look at the deaths on 24th December in middle of January.

Been explained a few times.

Which is not much of a comparison is it. They couldn't do testing and track & trace (but then neither can we very well).
I have never said that Quarantine was the only answer, just a major part of it, just like boosted immune systems and using every possible medicine.
Which is something else we haven't and aren't doing.
The speed of transport is much higher now, but the idea of quarantine still works.
Ask New Zealand they will tell you, but we don't even do that instead we do "self Isolation" which of course is totally voluntary.
Old style medicine mixed with new Medical ability should be doing a much better job than we are doing.
Make as many excuses as you like Quarantine has and always will make sense, your "distancing" is just a small part of it.
But it should have been used right from before the start. ie when it was announced in China, but there was no will and very little in the way of facilities left.

What has become obvious, I would think to a lot of people, was we should have closed down international travel straight away, no holidays. I think it bizarre that even now people can travel across the world and these new strains are being found in several countries, including this new one in South Africa that is already here in the UK.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I said exactly that at the time and also the reopening of pubs was a major mistake. Been proven right despite what others have tried to say. How did the South African strain get here. It didnt travel on its own.

Have you seen the situation in Kent on the news? Closing our borders isn't an option.

Closing our borders to tourism would make very little difference at the moment, especially from areas of low infection. We completely rely on international connections for essential business reasons. Tourism is a tiny part of the problem. It seems that the South African strain has been contained by quarantine.

Apparently the "Spanish strain" in the summer is likely to have come from agricultural workers.

There are articles in the press which talk about the “Spanish strain” being passed by agricultural workers to the local population and then tourists. What really surprised me was reading an article stating the samples of Covid were found in Spanish waste water /sewerage samples going back to March 2019.

Your last paragraph is only partly true. The Spanish strain was brought here by returning holidaymakers. In August/early September you were making fun of Gethin when he was talking about holidaymakers being from Zante causing an increase and also listed a party of 4 returning from Ibiza which you tried to knock as that wasnt in Greece. Evidence then of it being brought by holidaymakers. 4 had infected 13.

As far as closing borders. We had a choice. We could have kept borders closed and kept a lid on the virus just like places like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia did. Johnson decided not to do that and created a series of so called safe Air Bridges of which approximately half were removed because they werent safe. He wanted to save the travel industry and the result is that everyone else has suffered since. Just like he brought in the 1 metre plus rule to make pubs more viable despite the fact we are many times safer at 2 metres than 1.

This week every day Swansea Bay Health Board has had figures between 503 and 305. Most were between 450 and 503 except for yesterday. Every day since 21 December the figures have dropped culminating in a big drop yesterday. These figures are 2 to 3 weeks after pubs were closed. The time scale you would expect a reduction for closing somewhere. This has happened despite Supermarkets and shops being rammed with customers yet you have continually championed keeping pubs open. There has been 2 pubs in Pontardawe fined for breaking covid guidelines recently together with 1 in Morriston. So far pubs in Pontardawe, Clydach, Morriston, Landore, Hafod and several in Swansea City Centre have been fined and closed for breaking covid rukes. That is pretty widespread.

I agree it’s you on air bridges and holidays, we now have the South African version in our midst which is unlikely to have made it here if travel had been prevented.
Fair point on pubs, I’d deal with them harshly, fine and written warning followed by a revocation of their licence - end of.

We dont know if yesterday's drop is a blip. There were less tests yesterday but then still more than there has been over 15000. It might be the amounts of higher tests shown recently are actually a catch up of the days of under reporting of lighthouse labs. For the figure to be lower than it was 2 weeks ago is a definite good sign as is the fact it hasnt been rising for a week.

Air bridges was brought in by Johnson in response to pressure by the travel industry and the stupid 1 metre plus rule under pressure from the hospitality industry. This was not based on scientific or medical advice. Johnson said he was following the science but then changed it to guided by science. The introduction of masks was political. The medical and scientific advisers had doubts about their benefits particularly in shops where contact is fleeting. Thy are far more useful in environments where people are near each other for longer periods ie public transport, schools, workplaces, pubs etc.

At no time were borders actually closed, at no time was anyone other than Diamond Princess passengers quarantined.
The best they managed was 2 weeks voluntary self isolation, which is not the same thing at all.
Especially at the beginning where they were going for Herd Immunity they let every tom dick & harry come in from anywhere in the world, regardless of the level of infection.
As you say the countries you mentioned handled it much better and had a much smaller work load for Track & Trace to work with.

The problem is figures were dropping until August which correlates with people coming back from holidays abroad and the opening of pubs indoors. Things like opening non essential retail, opening schools, pubs outdoors happened without problems. Once we let people in through Air Bridges and opened pubs indoors cases increased and have since. We had Air Bridges with countries like France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Greece and Portugal which had to be removed within weeks. By then the virus had been brought back here and spread. That allied to opening of pubs is the reason we are where we are today. There is absolutely no evidence that wearing of masks in shops reduced the virus. Ever since that was done cases have gone up but probably more to do with the other things I mentioned.

Been explained a few times.

Look at the deaths from last May then look at them in June, look at the deaths in June then look at them in July and keep doing that up to this present moment in time, the deaths for the previous month are as low as the next month there still low six months later this has been explained to you more than a few times.

Your obviously extremely thick.

YOU CANNOT COMPARE THE UK TO SWEDEN.

For a number of reasons.

Compare apples to apples, not pears.

What do you think the death rate would be in the UK, if the UK did the same?

Sweden is 10 times more than their neighbours.

France is UK's neighbour, France is sat at 953 deaths per million, lets be kind and say 5 times, the UK's death rate could be as high as 5000 per million, 5 times higher than current level.

The previous months deaths are as low as the following month, this has been the case for the last eight months you complete and utter dimwit, put your silly charts and fruit observations away and go and play a board game.

You missed this from a previous post I did, did you? or intentionaly ignoring it?

Lets look at some other figures, deaths since Nov 1.

Norway 122, thats 22 deaths per million population
Finland 131, thats 23 deaths per million population

Sweden 1968, thats 194 deaths per population.

1968
deaths attributed to COVID since November 1st. Low eh, it is isn't it, especially when you consider their neighbours had 122 and 131 .

I believe your just being a troll mate.

A lot of people, myself included, suspected this virus was around long before China told anybody anything.
If/when evidence turns up showing it was it'll just make more people suspicious that China did it on purpose. There are plenty of conspiracy theories around already.

And if it was, as we both suspect, it would have been too late to worry about closing the borders as it was already here.

Yes it is, but what I found odd is that they used PCR testing, itself under suspicion due to the Cycle count sensitivity to retest the Lateral flow results.
They then suggest that it is the lateral flow tests that are wrong.

PCR testing isn't under great suspicion for identifying the virus.

Well looking at social media it doesn't seem that anyone stuck to the restrictions yesterday.

I've seen numerous gatherings of at least six households, including vulnerable people and NHS employees. Including a six household hot tub party, including three nurses.

There's going to be big problems in January.

No, it wouldn't have been. It would have limited movement and so limited the spread. We may not have had so many strains to contend with in so many different places. We wouldn't have the new strain from South Africa here now.

If we'd closed the borders in the Uk...and enforced it with heavy fines...we may have been able to keep shops open. People knew some things weren't being enforced so just got on with it.
Some people still take the chance like those dimwits who got caught driving from England to Snowdon!
If you have rules they have to be enforced.

No take the position in Wales. Figures were dropping through May and June and dropped to a low level by early August. We were average daily low tens during that period. All that changed when people brought the virus back from holidays went to pubs and private parties and it has escalated from there. Had borders been kept closed this massive increase would have been prevented. Air bridges were said by Johnson and co to be safe but within weeks numerous countries had them removed. In the meantime cases had come here and we have paid for it ever since.

I agree. There are some places where closing borders would work, we aren't one of them. Just look at the situation closing our border to France for 48 hours caused. Kent was a car park and we were in danger of having food shortages.

That doesn't mean we could have a free for all, obviously restrictions would be necessary.

But we had thousands of UK citizens in Italy and Spain at the time of their outbreak before we realised it was a problem. They had to come home and brought it with them.

At the time people were going on holiday one of the areas of highest infection in the UK was NW England. People "bringing it back" may have caught it from fellow Brits. To that extent it just recirculated UK virus, and a trip to Zante would be no different to the famous valley's social club trip to Doncaster races.

You'd have to have been daft to want to go on holiday though.
