| Has the world been conned over COVID-19? 09:53 - Dec 13 with 33372 views | A_Fans_Dad | The actions of Governments all over the world are shaped on the basis of the PCR COVID test results. For months now there have been serious question marks over the accuracy of the tests. Well now there is a definitive study on the original research and it's world wide adoption which is totally condemning. https://www.globalresearch.ca/ This does not decry the deaths that occur with COVID-19, but there are also many questions over the counting of them as well. | | | | |

This article in the Financial Times doesn’t paint a very good picture about what’s happening in Sweden at the moment. https://www.ft.com/content/812 [Post edited 15 Dec 2020 22:42]

| Has the world been conned over COVID-19? on 23:14 - Dec 15 with 1348 views | Jack123 | This graph for me, hits straight to the point.. The pandemic has long since gone, as you can see from those figures.. It wasn't around that long. A lot of excess deaths late March, finished early May.. Easy to understand the dotted line is 2020 the rest are the 1999 to 2019. EDIT: I was so concentrated on the decline to early May, I missed the little blip that carries on for another few weeks.. So I will say late March, and it was all finished start of June, quite surprising really the mortality rates aren't higher, as I guess quite a lot of people are/have missed out on care that was needed to due to being too fearful to leave the house. I don't think it does. It shows a clear upward trend which seems to have been flattened by tighter restrictions in November and early December. If anything it may show the impact of lock down. | | | |
| Has the world been conned over COVID-19? on 07:33 - Dec 16 with 1293 views | Dr_Winston | Think it shows what a pointless waste of time staying locked down for much of the summer was when we could have had a manageable flow of infections during the warmer months whilst health and testing facilities were largely sitting idle, instead of bottling them up for a time when respiratory viruses are known to thrive. They moved away from the idea of flattening the curve to trying to eradicate it entirely, which was impossible without a vaccine. The inquiry after this is over will have more fingers to point than your average Cardiff fan. | |

Swedish data is very different in its reporting so those sites are not at behind. Reuters is a good source, but heard this from Swedish academics. Close to ICU service collapse like Wales or Liverpool can within a whisker of a few weeks back.

A lot of that is correct. It is unbelievable, but we are under less restrictions now than we were at the end of June! Londoners were sunning themselves on Bournemouth beach when people from Morriston weren't allowed to go to Langland. And infections continued to fall. If I wanted to I could travel from the area of highest infection in the UK, with a lonely neighbour, to visit a frail relative in the Scottish Highlands for Christmas and go on a pub crawl while I was there. All while there are more people in hospital than back in the spring. Our leaders have completely lost the pot. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I certainly believe that the higher levels of infection parts of Wales are seeing now are in part a result of the kind of travel restrictions you describe, right at the time we are least able to manage them. We had a tougher initial lockdown than other parts of the UK, an additional circuit breaker too and we're still the worst affected. [Post edited 16 Dec 2020 9:13]

That doesn't show the virus has gone, in fact it shows it's still there it's just that are fewer deaths per number of cases than at the beginning. That is down to the NHS learning on the job and doing better with the infected than previously. When there are more people in hospital with covid and cases rising day by day, when hospitals are so stretched the stop doing elective surgery and medical experts are going to the press to sk the government to act before it's too late, how does that show it's gone? I read yesterday that a Welsh health board has 900 people off sick. The Senedd has blown it. Stupid people haven't helped things but when we needed real leadership we got Drakeford and Gething.....or Bojo!

There may be more with covid, there may be less with other causes. That graph shows deaths now are at similar levels to previous years.

It shows that deaths up to December 4th were following a higher trajectory than the worst year on that graph. Of course lock down and greater restrictions followed that and cut the death totals. That's even before you consider better treatments now that are saving lives.

Like I've said to you before, covid isn't all about the number of deaths but also about the effect on the NHS. Deaths or even other knock on problems will increase if the NHS is too swamped with Covid patients to carry out normal treatments. People with health problems who don't get their treatments or operations can (and many will) develop other problems.

They're bound to have one! If the handling of the pamdemic isnt enough, the way contracts were handed out is surely enough to trigger one!

Cat, you are letting emotions carry you away from the facts of those charts. How close are we to having the NHS "swamped" compared to Mid April, which was before the Private Hospitals were contracted and the Nightingale hospitals were built. In mid April there were an extra 10,000 deaths compared to normal, now it is barely distinguishable from normal.

The Bumbling Baffoon you mean, who has promised lots of things since he this pandemic started. Remind us again which ones he managed to keep. If there is one it will be a whitewash like most previous inquiries, I can see the report now "we followed the Science, we did everything we could". OK colour me very cynical. | Has the world been conned over COVID-19? on 12:54 - Dec 16 with 1190 views | Scotia | So lockdown again from December 28th. I believe it is needed this time, it's a bit too late if anything. Looking at the new "four tier" plan and knowing how WG work, I think we'll be in Tier 4 for most of Jan, Tier 3 for Feb, Tier 2 for March and Tier 1 for April. Assuming the vaccines are rolled out on schedule and are effective. I think Drakeford would be better off just coming out and saying that rather than hiding behind other's decisions.

I believer 2020 would have been a pretty average year apart from March till early June, no doubt if you can see an upward trajectory there, well IMO that will be something to do with missed appointments, lack of treatment and also people too worried to even go the doctors or hospital.

Well hospitals have stopped doing non urgent treatments, which to me means another extended wait for my operation. The number of covid patients in ICU has risen gain, the numbers of other covid patients in hospital has risen. The numbers continue to rise and we haven't had the Christmas bubbles yet, wait til mid January and tell me it's emotion carrying me? People, sick people that is, are not getting their medical treatments because of covid and it's getting worse. How many times does it need to be said, it's not all about the number of covid deaths. 12 days ago, https://www.southwalesargus.co
