| Max Watters - Crawley on 18:31 - Jan 2 by ReslovenSwan1 | Swanseas best players cost nothing or next to nothing. Williams, Rangel, Taylor, Bodde, Scotland, Michu, Sinclair, Herndndez (5m) Tate, Britton, Trundle, Monk, De Guzman, McBurnie, James. |
And our worst players cost us an absolute fortune.

| Max Watters - Crawley on 13:55 - Dec 27 by NotLoyal | It’s why the Americans bought the club, they saw Jenkins making money from numerous transfers with small investment ( at that time) hence the reason why they retained him. Gylfi, Llorente, It continued with McBurnnie, James, Rodon. That’s what they want, minimal investment for big gain, and at the moment that minimal investment is seeing the club creep closer to the premier league. Scott is the continued reason for that. It’s what they see as a successful way forward. |
Its what the Americans want and what the Trust want. The best thing for the Trust is a massive 21% ownership and no investment (no dilution). That is the same for the US people. Given they want the same thing I find it bizarre they do not get on better. The US takeover has focused the Trust s mind and they probably now have reailsitic objectives. Getting to 25% was impossible with the club being well run. This would have cost them £4m. The Trust do not have the skills to run the club any better than Levien and co. In fact they have less skills. Getting £30m+ in the bank is not unrealistic if the club are sold in the PL. This could be £45m in 10 years of sensible investment on the global markets. This is a bold approach. £30m gives anyone a pretty good head start. Most billionaires say the "first million" is the hardest. They need 'strategists' not 'showboaters' whos main concern is looking good to the poeple on the east stand. Like any boxer knows they did not lose they were just robbed. Im afraid it will not wash with me.

How do you see him complementing Lowe and Ayew ?

Boring isn't it. This thread is about a player we could on the verge of signing. Not percentages and future projections of club finances with the usual agenda slant. [Post edited 2 Jan 2021 19:04]

| Max Watters - Crawley on 19:37 - Jan 2 with 1470 views | Dr_Winston | Depends on the price. More than about £500k for a player with half a season behind him would be a bit much. Despite that this is the kind of market we need to be shopping in. Your Lowe, Smiths and Watterses. Going further back it's your Rangels, Brittons, Scotlands and Boddes. Buy cheap and develop. Occasionally sell high to subsidise the club and the next round of signings. We're never going to be able to make millions from corporate and commercial, and we don't want to go down the road of being dependent upon an owners largesse. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

It was a perfectly reasonable answer to Not Loyals post. It did not need any further comment from anyone else. I know you will not allow criticism of the Trust go without reply. I have the same inclination about the folk that pay the bills and cover the shortfalls. NL stated the US investors wanted sucess and growth with out investment. I stated that is exactly what the Trust want. Thats it. There was one thred about the injury to Bennett or something turned into a 6 page discoure on the merits of socialism. | Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
