He’s declared a major disaster thereby making hundreds of millions of dollars for emergency and relief funding available; he also stated that he didn’t want his attendance to divert resources away from the crisis at hand and the relief work. Given the amount of security the presidents travel with, the size of the entourage, number of cops required, Covid pandemic etc I’d say that’s a pretty sensible approach to take.

Maybe they should be asking why he has to go there in the first place, what happened to their non national grid and why has it been allowed to get like this despite previous concerns being raised, why wasn’t the grid fit for purpose? Maybe the Texas legislature would like to answer? Trump junior had a “pop” at Texas’s Democratic Governor for it, except the Governor is a Republican.

Whilst the governor of Texas (Republican) went to Cancun.

Also note that Texas (Republican controlled) refused to join any other electricity supply network sharing so they could keep total control of it (ERCOT, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas). They did this to limit the impact of federal standards and regulations - self serving stupidity.

Texas (Republican controlled) were also advised to winterise their network after the 2011 harsh weather fiasco and they did not bother.

As already stated by others Biden opened up federal funds and stated that he didn’t want his attendance to divert resources away from the crisis at hand and the relief work.

So condemning left wing reporting eh, does that mean the right wing reporting is right? Can you see your unconcious bias yet?

I haven't made any crazy posts, Trump is badly thought of, generally speaking. He's been ordered to release his tax returns now, for a criminal investigation,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/wor

He's paid off one porn star and is accused of paying husg money another Playboy "model" and now he's under investigation for possible insurance, tax and banking fraud.

You crack on defending him, I'll wait to see if he is charged and found guilty or innocent in a court of law. Unlike the impeachment trial it won't need a 2 thirds majority to convict him, just real evidence and he won't ne able to rely on a jury of which 50% support him.

How did Biden benefit from postal voting? A legal vote is a legal vote however it is cast. I'm not even sure the USA MSM is left leaning, unless you have a strong right wing belief system. It's like the argument over the BBC here, left call them right wing, right wing call them left wing and both sides say they have evidence. It all comes down to your opinion and yes, unconcious bias.

Which right wing reporting do I reference, out of interest? Saying “eh” after a silly quip doesn’t make it any more true unfortunately. The only things I reference are actual first hand sources, videos or such like. Rarely, if ever do I post a slanted opinion piece. My views are my own.

You have made many crazy posts. Your latest insisting that he arranged the riot with certain groups and that his words “fight” were interpreted as actual violence which caused the criminality... even though that word is used in many facets of life including Democrat speeches and you said nothing, added to the fact we know it was pre planned. You are ignoring facts and circumventing natural paths of common sense thought in order to feed your irrational narrative.

If you don’t like Trump then that’s fine, don’t like him. You don’t have to. But this nonsense isn’t doing you any favours. Perch doesn’t like him and he says exactly why, but to his credit he doesn’t jump on the bizarre like you tend to.

Biden benefited from postal voting because not many are enthused to go out and vote for someone like him. His political history is poor at best and he didn’t even have the courage to state what he stood for. Many people who wouldn’t have bothered voting normally had a vote delivered to them while they got hammered from all sides by a tidal wave of media bias, Hollywood pandering and social media manipulation - it was a propaganda offensive.

The MSM being left wing is not an opinion, it’s a fact. You give me the main US sources of news and I will not only tell you where their political allegiance lays - but I will show you clear examples of how they manipulate. I created a thread on it a few months back, you would probably do well to seek it out before continuing. You won’t make much ground I assure you.

If you don’t want to listen to Big Bad Dr P, maybe a Harvard study (as if it isn’t obvious enough anyway) that shows a clear Liberal media bias?

https://scholar.harvard.edu/ba

I remember when Biden and Obama visited Mount Rushmore and they said something along the lines of “Biden takes in the sights of the spectacular monument of our founding fathers”. When Trump went the same station interpreted it as “Trump gives speech in front of monument of slave owners on stolen land”. They had a narrative to paint which was to drive up racial tensions, so the democrats could then capitalise on - and many fell for it hook line and sinker.

It’s criminal.

I wonder which party removed the requirement for balance in media in the USA. Oh yes, it was Ronald Reagan and the GOP.

There may well be anti--Trump bias, but you have clearly lost sight of what left-wing is.

I don’t know what that has to do with anything I wrote? I haven’t lost sight of anything.

We both agree there is media bias, which overwhelmingly helped the Democrat cause - especially with floating voters that got delivered a ballot. That was, and is, my point.

You have a habit of agreeing with me but trying to make it sound like you don’t.

You complained of MSM bias-yes, there is -more on the side of the Democrats, but clearly some for the GOP especially those run by the Murdoch family.

And I don't disagree that the majority of TV channels, CNN and the 'heavyweight' press were firmly against Trump.

But I would suggests none are left-wing. Neither is Biden

I didn’t complain, I just stated a fact. I was asked why postal voting helped Biden - that was my answer.

This is the list of center, left and right leaning publications and mediums of news if you don’t want to take my word for it. Most of the mainstream is left or left leaning.

https://www.allsides.com/media

Biden is a chameleon who probably doesn’t understand what he believes in himself. The fact is he panders to the left and relies on their vote and would far more likely put through a “progressive” (the word is an oxymoron) piece of legislation to curry favour, than a common sense one.

This is the issue and this is why America is in for a very bad time.

At this point Joe Biden is literally only there to clumsily and dispassionately read whatever they put on the teleprompter. He’s not in charge of himself let alone the country. There’s nothing else there.

Djack, you can have your opinions based on the MSM, but as always there is another side to the story.
Governor Abbot declared a Statewide emergency on the 12 of February, ie before the power cuts occurred, because the warning were there.
He also requested that Texas be allowed to increase their Fossil Fuel Generation, the maximum of which is controlled by the DOE, not ERCOT.
He was denied the increase by the DOE at the time.
The Biden administration did not react to the emergency declaration, it did not even react when as expected there was a 63% reduction in Wind & Solar generation, due to the cold and snow, which also caused a reduction in Grid frequency tripping a load shedding event to stabalise the grid. Other generation also started to fail due to the extreme cold.
His administration only reacted 5 days after that event and 69 people had died and even then apparently they did not declare a statewide emergency, only for 77 of the 177 counties.
The DOE did however respond on the 14th of February with the letter shown in these 2 news articles.
https://www.independentsentine
https://usareally.com/9222-bid

You can see the Electricity Generation for that period here.

Yes they should have winterised their generation, however with advice like this, why would you spend the money. It's Climate Change you know.

Interesting to see today that Mitch McConnell says he'll support Trumps nomination for the next presidential election.

That's the same fella who voted to acquit Trump at his impeachment but then later say that Trump was "practially and morally responsible"

https://www.theguardian.com/us

Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell said on Saturday that Donald Trump was “practically and morally responsible” for the insurrection at the US Capitol on 6 January — minutes after voting to acquit the former president in his impeachment trial for that very same act. From the report,

McConnell, like the senators who voted in favor of impeachment, was deeply critical of Trump’s conduct leading up to the attack. “They [the mob] did this because they’d been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth because he was angry he lost an election,” McConnell said.

Turns out McConnell thought him guilty but voted to acquit in the belief you cannot impeach an ex President. I wonder how many other Republicans felt the same way. Then, even though he blames Trump he says he'll still support him next time around.

But as it's the Guardian no doubt Dr P will dismiss it? Does it matter that McConnell actually said these things?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Dismiss what? Saying something and it having any relevance aren’t the same thing.

You seem to have fallen into the trap of regurgitating and copy and pasting any articles you think go against Trump. Djack does that too. Funnily enough they are almost always leftist media... ask yourself why.

How many Democrats voted against him simply because of who he was as opposed to what he was claimed to have done? A fair few would be my guess.

So what point are you making here? I can think you are an alien, but should you be on trial for being one my view would be superseded by the facts of the matter and would have to say guilty or not guilty based on the facts, rather than my feelings.

How many times do we have to have the same conversation? His speech was televised, just like the “fine people” speech was which received the same deceitful reception.

We know the riot was pre planned, prior to any speech which the media and people like yourselves have reached to make a clearly false connection. The speech encouraged people to march, which is a constitutionally protected action. But he was reckless in his delivery and often opens himself up for the likes of the media you like to quote to imply anything they like to some of the things he says. He needs to be sharper in that department.

I think you need to take a breath, you have worked yourself up into a frenzy over this.

I'm not in a frenzy, far from it. It's just another soundbite from you meant to deride my opinion.

If it is not relevant to you that a Republican Senator who voted to acquit actually believes that Trump is "Practically and morally responsible" then there is no evidence that will change your opinion.

Now you said "You seem to have fallen into the trap of regurgitating and copy and pasting any articles you think go against Trump" and that is an old ploy, make out copy and paste is bad. Tell me, how many links did you copy and paste? Or do you never copy and paste? And yet again with leftist media, tell me, which media is acceptable to you? Probably only the media that supports Trump which right wing media.

Yet again you misrepresent what Trump said to claim his innocence, he didn't just say march, he said fight or fighting and he said it many times. Here you go, you don't like the left, take a centrist source,

https://apnews.com/article/fac

We do know th riot was preplanned but you won't accept it when an "Oath Kepper" says Trump "activated" them and so had previous knowledge. I guess we cannot believe what Trump supporters say then.

You can accuse people of crazy posts or falling into traps all you like, that doesn't make it true....see, I can do that too. You are right about the same conversation though. I'll leave it with agree to disagree and wait to see what the investigation into Trumps tax affairs shows up.

You keep saying “soundbite” and “deride my opinion” every time I type something you don’t like. Every single time I show and demonstrate exactly what I mean, they aren’t sound bites or derision. This is like Groundhog Day.

Evidence? Someone’s opinion is not evidence. What on earth are you taking about? Kamala (a Democrat politician) said she thought joe was guilty of sexual offences and was a racist. Is that proof that he is? You aren’t making any sense at all anymore, this acquittal seems to have really got to you.

Nope, my opinion is my opinion. I would only really copy and paste if someone wished to see something that I had talked about in my opinion. As for what media - you keep asking me the same questions. This answer is the same now as it was the million times you asked me before. I very rarely use media. I use official sources and first hand evidence. Media shouldn’t support Trump or be against him, they should report the news not report THEIR news.

And yet again you jump straight into the leftist links with the AP fact checks. Just crazy, it’s like an out of body experience. I honestly don’t know what has gotten into you. You have either been reincarnated as DJack or you have lost all sense of self awareness.

No I don’t believe an oath keeper saying Trump “activated” them and the fact you claim to suggests how deep down this rabbit hole you have gone. Do you also believe the Qanon conspiracy theory where they say Trump sends them covert messages via his tweets?.... or do you just believe the people that suits your narrative?

Stephen Fry said “fight for our democracy”, do you think he’s some violent instigator? Joe Biden said “Trump won’t be President for 4 more years and we are going to fight like hell”, I don’t hear you holding him accountable for any rioting? Kamala Harris said “I say we fight”. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you have only made the connection to that word when Trump said it... right? Even though those words were coming when we were seeing daily Democrat violence.

Ask yourself why you are making such unbalanced standards of speech.

https://www.penguin.co.uk/arti

Hilarious. So now you are over the acquittal you are onto his taxes in the hope it shows something.... anything. Just crazy. Now maybe you can see why the many sensible people around all this have been shaking their head with disbelief as the rabid left and people like yourselves and the media have been on a constant witch-hunt. It’s bias in its worst form and it’s very, very ugly.

When he’s cleared of wrongdoing on his taxes I wonder what you will turn to next. Maybe they can arrest him for saying “pussy”? We will get him one way or another Cat... right?

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you have only made the connection to that word when Trump said it... right? Even though those words were coming when we were seeing daily Democrat violence.

Ask yourself why you are making such unbalanced standards of speech.

We will get him one way or another Cat... right?

"We will get him one way or another Cat... right? "

They have been trying to "get him" for 5 years and most of it illegally.
But that doesn't matter to those with TDS.
It is OK to break the law and go against the US Constitution, fit people up with false evidence etc, when Trump is involved.

The problem with you is you dismiss out of hand anything against Trump and support beyone reason anything he says or does. There is evidence of Trumps wrong doings, they're even admitted by other republicans, take Mitch McConnells' quotes about Trump being responsible for the Capitol Hill riots, McConnell being a Trump supporter.

Then there's the Ukraine thing,

https://theintercept.com/2019/

bu no doubt you'll claim that's illegal or nonsense, or both and dismiss that evidence too. Trump has even said he will refuse to cooperate with lawful subpoenas which itself can get a year in prison but that's surely nonsense, right AFD?
Then there's this,

https://www.businessinsider.co

but that is surly an MSM conspiracy right? Some lunatic on social media says so and the lunatic must be right.

McConnell said he voted to acquit Trump despite thinking him guilty because, in his opinion, you cannot impeach an EX president, he has to bactually be in office to be impeached. That's despite there being a precedent (William W. Belknap) so is McConnell a liar or part of some conspiracy against Trump?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The intercept?! Cat. Please. You are now beyond desperate on your quest. First Mitch’s opinion being used as fact and now stories from the intercept?!

You are getting beyond ridiculous.

Co-Founder Glenn Greenwald's Accusations of Bias
In Oct. 2020, Intercept co-founder Glenn Greewald resigned from the publication, accusing it of censorship and bias in an open letter. The Intercept responded with a statement denying the allegations.

Greenwald wrote in part:

The final, precipitating cause [for my resignation] is that The Intercept’s editors, in violation of my contractual right of editorial freedom, censored an article I wrote this week, refusing to publish it unless I remove all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the candidate vehemently supported by all New-York-based Intercept editors involved in this effort at suppression.

...

"I had no objection to their disagreement with my views of what this Biden evidence shows: as a last-ditch attempt to avoid being censored, I encouraged them to air their disagreements with me by writing their own articles that critique my perspectives and letting readers decide who is right, the way any confident and healthy media outlet would. But modern media outlets do not air dissent; they quash it. So censorship of my article, rather than engagement with it, was the path these Biden-supporting editors chose."

Good luck, I hope you win.

Don’t know if he wants a running mate. I could fill the Kamala role of just cackling loudly every time somebody asks me a difficult question or speaks to me at all.
