Giving all Health care workers a one off bonus of 735 before tax so around 500 after

That's more than they are getting in England

There was certainly talk of it, I was more infuriated because they're part of the private sector...if that's the case, where's my bonus?!!

Welsh people studying welsh history should not be a debate.

I agree though that studying British history has lots to teach us.

Here is one example .

In the interest of historical accuracy you do realise that almost all of that footage has nothing to do with Cable Street, don’t you? It’s from October ‘37 i.e after the introduction of the Public Order Act (1936) and the subsequent banning of ‘political’ uniforms. The occasion being a propaganda parade from the Embankment to Bermondsey.

I hope your pal Nick isn’t teaching anybody history. It’s not really his forte.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Nick Reeves wants the opposition parties to unite to guarantee the tories cannot win next time.

Imagine if they did unite and the tories won anyway?

It does beg the question, if the tories are so bad why would all the opposition need to unite to try and beat them? Surely a capable, worthwhile Labour party could manage that by itself?

The problem with Labour is, they pander to minority groups and ignore the majority, hardly an election winning strategy really.

In Wales it's a bit different, plenty of sheep see.

That sh1t is offensive to every person in the UK. Take it down Kilky.

The Nazi's would have put you against a wall and shot you for having different views. The Nazi's would then have taken everything you had and probably killed your family along the way.
Show me one bit of evidence that Bojo has behaved like a Nazi towards the EU, when did he bomb them, invade them or even threaten them?

Its certainly not.

The real patriots would stand up to johnson.

He has attacked and removed the moderates in his own party, he has attacked the judiciary, he has attacked the EU, he has attacked the Good Friday Agreement, he attacked devolution, he has nobbled the BBC impartiality, he has legislated against our right to protest, he sucked up to Trump, and he has mismanaged covid through his ignorance and failed British exceptionalism.

Wake up people - none of this is normal politics, and none of this reflects traditional British values.

Johnson is a dangerous man.

It is democracy. Don't you like democracy? The people voted to leave the undemocratic EU. Boris obeyed the peoples wishes and got us out. The German president cooked up the vaccines in the EU now she blames everyone else instead of resigning.

BBC are clearly left wing biased they even admitted fill the question time audience with left wing activists.

Spot on, what a collosal waste of money. Should have given, for example, Serco a bonus for their contribution to the excellent Track and Trace system. Or bought more unusable PPE from Ayanda Capital. Or put it toward a nuclear bomb that will never be used. Giving it back to the public is just preposterous.

Let's see now, bonuses being dished out to 220,000 health workers at the end of April, then we have an election first week of May. I'm afraid that says it all, it's all about the timing.

Disagree.

They are going to vote with their conscience. The payment is a thank you. You can stick your clapping up your arse and you can bet your bottom dollar that the majority of NHS workers would rather have been furloughed on 80% of their wages paid from the government.

Didn't they have a bonus midway through this pandemic? I'm sure they did...

You're sure? Go and get the facts. The payment was to care workers and not the NHS.
My wife get's a hug every day she gets back from the hospital though a thank you payment will make her smile more than a hug. What would have made her more happy would have been to be furloughed on 80% of her wages and be a lot safer with out all the drama of being at work (which of course would have been paid by the government).

A decent attempt at sweeping it under the carpet Drakeford style, but it's £750 and in many cases it's going into peoples accounts the week before the election.

It demonstrates yet again the contempt the Wales Government have for the electorate.
Get rid of them all, let your MP's work for you directly, and in your local interests.
Let's produce a fairer and more democratic Wales.

I was a supporter of devolution but having watched how the assembly has taken care of Cardiff first, I couldn't care less if the assembly was abolished because it has not worked.

I don't believe NHS workers, in Wales, would be looking at their pay packets and thinking that the 500 quid after tax is going to make them think that they must vote Labour. I can see how you think it is a cynical ploy but I don't think it will make the difference that you do.

Drakers Government isn’t the first to make a populist gesture before an election, they’ve all been doing it for years, 4 years of hardship then a giveaway budget before a GE. I’d like a complete change in Cardff and London. Instead of the self serving types we have now I’d like to see politicians who genuinely put the interests of the country and it’s citizens before their own personal agenda and party dogma, but it won’t happen. We need people who do the right thing for the right reason.

But i think it's probably meant to ensure a bigger turn out at the polling station on the day.
