| Cabango Sent Home on 12:50 - Apr 13 by KeithHaynes | I can see why people are angry, he is well looked after by the club, has everything done for him and in return for a big salary he is asked to be professional. Everyone makes mistakes, but if this was a politician, police or any other profile position the outcry would be very loud indeed. I’ve no faith in football to govern itself since Mark Bosnich was done for taking cocaine and said later it was the best thing that could have happened to him as he now has a successful media career. |
Spot on. Silly boy indeed, I’m sure he deeply regrets it. He will learn I’m sure. But it certainly answers a few questions as much as some will be annoyed by having to admit that, albeit not publicly for fear of losing face.

Nothing has been made up, unless you think this was a mature and sensible decision? It was a silly decision, completely unprofessional and irresponsible and as a result may be unavailable for some matches. If Jamal Lowe had done it or Hourihane can you imagine the comments on here? I dread to think. If you think I’ve made that up then cool. But I’m sure you won’t be convincing many. Yes, I’m sure Cooper is going to come out and criticise Cabango. It’s strange you take Coopers comments as gospel when it suits and call him all the names under the sun when it doesn’t... He was silly and unprofessional. Something you will have to deal with I’m afraid. [Post edited 13 Apr 2021 13:17]

Of course it was a silly decision. But it has now relevance to why Cabango hasn't played more for Cooper. He thinks Naughton is a better right sided centre half in a three, and Bennett in a two. It's quite simple really. I call him all the names under the sun when he says things like "tired players should just get on with it", obviously that's what he thinks, I'm not accusing him of lying, I just think it's poor management. He says Cabango works very hard in training and is a good professional. He hasn't been picked as Cooper doesn't think he's quite ready to be a consistent starting XI player. “It was important to get him tied down to a longer contract — it allows us to continue improving him. He has got a lot of improving to do, and we want to maximise his potential and talent. “He’s an exciting player, and another Welsh player to come through the academy which everyone loves to see, but there is a lot more hard work ahead.

Just to add to that aswell, no shame in that, he would get into most sides in the league, not many clubs at this level can boast the likes of Naughton, Bennett, Guehi, Cabango and an England youth world cup winner in Latibeaudiere for their squad. Forgetting we also lost Rodon to that list for big money. Depth in squad is excellent and I'm sure Cabango is getting better every week due to that.

You are guessing, you have zero idea on Coopers reasoning. He’s always going to praise our players, especially our young ones. Don’t tell me you believes Martinez when he said he had to be kicked out too did you? It’s football, they say these things. You aren’t that naive. The improving he was talking about may well be maturity and attitude; it’s just as important as any other trait. It turns out he didn’t just go out and break protocol either. He arranged and hosted the party where police had to be called due to the behaviour of the party goers. If you think that’s a good professional attitude then you have vastly different ideas of that than I do... and most other people I would have thought. This is another subject where you won’t be gaining much traction with me unfortunately. [Post edited 13 Apr 2021 13:28]

| Cabango Sent Home on 13:10 - Apr 13 by Dr_Parnassus | You can copy any post you like, the response won’t change. There is no narrative other than he has made an immature and irresponsible decision. Something I mused may be the reason he prefers the more experienced Naughton. I haven’t implied he has an attitude problem, I am making the factual observation that there is clearly a flaw in his character currently - which often comes with youth. You are being a drama Queen after you were unable to further your point on the other thread. The fact this story has come out and added weight to what I was saying has clearly annoyed you. Sorry about that. |
00.49 ‘I think it may be attitude that’s keeping him from starting’ 13.10 ‘I haven’t implied he’s got an attitude problem’ Risca has summed up what you are doing here quite succinctly. It is as obvious as it’s distasteful.

Yep “may”, because we don’t know if it’s a wider problem. There is quite clearly some immaturity and unprofessionalism there, those are attitude traits. Risca has the same mentality as you where you are both annoyed because you cannot gain any ground on me in a debate. It’s frustrated you clearly, to the point you are making ridiculous arguments just to try and have the opposite. Hosting a party and breaking covid protocols in the middle of a promotion run in... is an attitude issue. Simple as that. You can disagree if you like because the opposite of that would mean conceding a previous discussion, but you won’t be winning many over by pretending this isn’t an attitude issue. That part is clear. Whether that is a part of Coopers decision making we can only guess however. But there is now evidence there that his decision making and maturity may not be up to the mark yet. I’m factually stating he has ‘some’ issues with his attitude. Decision making, unprofessionalism and immaturity are clearly three. Whether there is a wider problem we don’t know, whether this is one of the reasons he isn’t starting we also don’t know. But there is some evidence there now from something that was suggested was a possibility last week. Unless of course you think it’s a good attitude to break covid protocols and host a drunken party in a promotion run in to the point police have to be called to his home. It’s not difficult.

Yes Talksport likes these sort of "edgy" poeple. They have employed an assortment of wife beaters. GBH ativity people, illegal gambing adicts, drunks, cocaine adicts, dogging practioners and bankrupts. Dean Saunders has been banished for some drunk driving which is of course unacceptable. No, it’s very easy because there is no explanation of the point at hand and the question was intentionally clumsy. Nuances. Someone can have some attitude issues without having an attitude problem per se. It depends how deep those issues go as to whether it proves a problem, or a continued one at that. The attitude issues here are clear, the attitude problem is less so (which is the scenario you decided to create and something I didn’t suggest). Take it on the chin is my best advice here, you aren’t going to be winning many fans by pretending this is anything other than a poor attitude on display. Call a spade a spade even if it means losing ground. Again, if Hourihane had done this the knives would be out. We both know that.

So just to clarify. March 18th you claimed Cabango was Cooper's first choice right sided centre half, now you're claiming he hasn't been due to an attitude issue? Is he Cooper's first choice or not? Because you argued to the hilt he was less than a month ago?

It’s a stupid decision. That doesn’t mean he has an attitude problem or an attitude issue (not that there is much difference between the two). I’ll ask again. Do you think he has an attitude problem/issue? Make it concise this time.

It is important that Cabango is not lost to the Welsh game. A kick up the jacksee now will do him no harm at all. Leave him to stew a few weeks and think about his responsibilities and aspirations. He is just young and thats what kids do is not good enough. This man is a special talent. This is Swansea city. He has a lot of money for one so young and he can go down a number of routes. I cannot understand what has gone wrong with young Woodburn. He should be by now be a superstar. His Welsh u16 team mate Broadhead is fighting like a dog to get a contract at Everton.

Yep, really stupid. Unprofessional and immature too wasn’t it? Bad attitude traits on display. It wasn’t a spur of the moment decision as I initially thought either. It was a pre-meditated arranged party with plenty of time to consider the decision. That’s an attitude issue considering he is a professional footballer fully aware of the position we are in and the implications that may come with going ahead with such an act. There is absolutely a difference between an attitude issue and an attitude problem. An attitude issue could be something like not wanting to socialise with the team, but that’s not always a problem, things like that can be managed. You could argue however that these attitude issues have now caused a problem as he could well be out for x amount of games. Whether this will continue and show itself to be a further problem we can only hope not and put these issues down to age. I have explained whether I believe he has an attitude issue and/or an attitude problem very clearly in the 3 paragraphs you wanted me to condense into a single word. And in the many posts before it. Read it/them again is my suggestion.

Cabango had played most games when I said that (he still may have). You then changed it to wide centre half, which I never disagreed with. I did however show how we clearly are more successful with him in the side and stated that given that then there may be other such factors why he isn’t being picked recently such as attitude or some other non footballing reason. A week later he may well miss a few games for breaking covid protocols and having police called to his house. Those are the facts.

So is he Cooper's first choice or not? Because you're implying now he's not? When less than a month a go: <<He isn’t. Cabango, Guehi and Bennett are our starting 3 CB’s. He was when I said it, he played the second highest amount of games behind Guehi, maybe even more than him, I would have to check. He’s not first choice now, I have mused that there may be other reasons apart from footballing ones which may be the reason. He is now potentially going to miss a few games after breaking covid protocols and having police called to his house. Why are we repeating conversations?
