The best Twitter football financial expert gives his analysis on our last financial performance figures. For some reason there's no mention of the tens of millions taken out out of the club by the owners. Can't imagine why.

Different position to Dhanda, it’s irrelevant.

He’s a better right back probably.

Disagree. He was here to play attacking midfield, and cover RWB if needed.

Yeah I gathered the same. Very odd angle of attack to suggest he should be playing in a position he rarely plays in.

Especially when pointing to his presence in the US National team as a reason he should be playing, except he doesn’t play there in CM. I am assuming down to his limited technical abilities.

So the argument should really be should he have played more instead of Roberts. It’s an obvious no to me.... and most importantly Cooper.

<< extremely versatile player, Cooper and the Swansea scouting department will no doubt be well aware of his ability to affect the game at both ends of the pitch, as well as being able to play through the middle>>

Are people seriously still trying to claim that Arriola didn't feature for reasons other than Cooper's pique?

Well there's plenty of other potential reasons why he didn't play, much that have been profiled on this thread and others.

Are people still saying that a player who had not played any regular football since the end of 2019 was "fit and ready" to command a starting spot in the Championship?

OK lets put some substance behind Cooper's supposed pique

Cooper asks for players to strengthen the promotion push he has been challenged with.
He gets 2 players from America one of whom has not played "in anger" since 2019.

that is not exactly adding strength .Look at what happened Morris who had at least played during 2020 featured more as I guess he was showing he was"getting up to championship speed" in training Arriola took longer then got injured plus there was the "rascisim incident" form years ago.

I am sure that on arrival all players are assesed for their fitness levels etc beep tests being one tool ....DO people really believe that a player who has effectively been laid up fpr 12 months in "fit" to walk in to the side?

Who has said he should have “walked in side”

He’s a better option than Dhanda in my opinion and the attitude Cooper had towards him looked poor to say the least, I said this at the time, and he’s came out and confirmed it.

The guy had played less than 3 hours football in the space of 12 months...We all have opinions thats what this forum is about....your are entitiled to your opinion my gripe is the constant knocking of Cooper...To be honest if I was in Coopers shoes given Arriola's last 12 months I wouldnt be enthusiastic and lets be honest nither would the likes of Potter, Brendan et al!

Maybe a fully fit Arriola who had had some decent minutes of football before arriving might be a better option than Dhanda...but thats what the soprts science etc is there for .

Same with Brewster same with Gibbs White. Gibbs White had the same fate as Morris. (out for months). It follows on from the Peterson incident when he demanded to leave.

The 'racsim incident' is something Copper should consider for 2 seconds. He has focussed far too much time on this already. We are talking about on line racism by prepubesant confused teenagers who listen to rap daily.

These player both featured for the country and would have been physically fit.

But neither came smack bang in the middle of a covid condensed season like Arriola did they? Both had some seasoning within the British game&knew our coaching staff. And let's face it, Arriola in reality isn't on MGWs level is he? Gibbs White has 80 games for Wolves under his belt!

Some guy who's never played outside of North America is not comparable.

Players unable to break into team in unhappy strop. Shock horror.

Yes he does well against St Vincent and Trinidad. That in no way suggests he was ready to play lots of games in the championship when he came.

Its astonishing the lengths people are going to discredit Cooper mind. Threads and threads about a player no one had ever heard of prior to joining.

Arriola was with us for 7 games that he was uninjured for. 7 games!! And he played in 2!

Genuinely, how much do people expect Cooper to have played him for!?

No one seems capable of answering that.

More than17 minuites. I like the idea a ot of synergies between DC and Swansea or even Houston and Swansea. Synergies in general are good. Swansea mangers where there is mutual benefit should be willing to spin with the revolutions. I know a lot of locals do not like this idea for philosphical reasons.

With your thinking some young Swansea players like Brandon or Ollie Cooper could walk the US leagues simillarly Cullen and Garrick. I would love to see than do a summer seasons out there.

Yes we should use every advantage available to us.

That doesn't mean that every byproduct of the relationship will work out. Arriola, was an example of this, he got injured after 7 games, 7 games during which 1 there was no need to disrupt the team because we were on form and 2 probably not advisable to throw it a guy desperately short of minutes in this congested championship season. If he hasn't have got injured so soon he may well have played more games. Cooper should in no way be under pressure to 'spin with the revolutions'. He should pick the team and nobody else.

Not sure how you'd construe my logic as that. I'd be happier if they went on loan to British lower league clubs personally. Think it would be more beneficial.

Bristol City at Home, against a very, very weak outfit he waited until we were 2-1 down to bring him on, times like that he should be on way earlier. He was brought on attacking midfield.
Huddersfield away, get the boy on there, Dhanda came on in the 68th minute. "It might be fatigue but I'm not going to use that as an excuse." he said after the game.
Nottingham Forest at home, awful performance, I believe him and Morris both came on with. He had 7 minutes and Morris had 20. Scored winner in 87th minute.

Two good players, both underused and left with not great memories of playing for us and Cooper. It is a shame. But we shall see what happens next season.

I am thinking of some one like Cullen and Benda that could do with game time. 10 games a season is no good. Go off to the US and play. Good for everybody. Swansea have the contacts. Arriola is one of DC best players. Brandon Cooper, Cullen, Benda and the Coopers should thrive.

So you're whole gripe amounts to you thinking Cooper:
- should have brought him on 15mins earlier v Bristol City.
- don't see your point about Huddersfield. Game was gone by time Dhanda came on. What difference at all would bringing Arriola in that game have made?
- I'm not considering criticising Cooper for a game we won sorry. That's ridiculously needlessly looking for faults that aren't there. And he got a run out anyway.

You're literally moaning about 30 odd extra minutes of sub time? Seriously?

How do you know what memories Morris has out of interest!?

Haha i couldn't care less what memories Arriola has of us. We won 5 out of the 7 games he was here for. Should be grown up enough to realise he isn't going to walk into that side. We'd recently signed Hourihane ffs.

Go on loan to British club and have a proper pre - season with the rest of the squad. Simple. Put recall clauses in.

Got is he!? Well i don't see us getting much of this relationship then do you!? He couldn't get a game in the championship and we're in the play offs to go up now.

A profit is even more creditable when you consider that the owners paid significant sums for the land next to the stadium and to buy out the stadium operators. All cash invested into the future of the club and significant commercial return.

Dear god you don't half talk some rubbish. My gripes are with Cooper's lack of management when the schedule was as constant as it was, my gripes are with Cooper constantly making digs at the board, blaming everyone but himself for not getting a 9 while he conveniently forgets he tracked Gyokeres all summer and he flopped, another player who didn't get a look in. I didn't like Cooper's attitude towards Ariolla and Morris from the start, said so at the time and Ariolla has come out and confirmed what anyone with half a braincell should know already.

You wont consider criticising Cooper for games we have won, that's fine, don't apologise as I honestly couldn't care less what you think, I'll continue to make my points whether you agree or not. You're unbelievably short sighted and your posts on other subjects highlights that further.

Calm down and stick to Arriola and Morris now, those other things are separate things. Don't get all ratty now because the sweeping statements you've made have been interrogated and exposed.

"Arriola's chances were limited in the early stages of his Swansea career as he worked his way up to full fitness."
Wales online. And the facts back that up.

What attitude are you on about from when they came in!?

Morris gave a heartfelt statement when he left thanking everyone at the club. Cooper similarly said he was disappointed as he felt Morris was just getting up to speed. Which I think was quite evident too.

Shortsighted? In what sense!? Arriola got injured after 7 games, there's no long game to consider.

Yes interesting indeed. Cooper picked the team around that period that got us the points to keep us in touch with the top 2. Even while trying to get un match fit players on the mls off season up to speed. Pretty impressive in fairness.

And you'll keep making your points - what are they? That Arriola should have played an extra 20 minutes during his time here!?

amyone with half a brain cell would not advocate the "promotion" of a player who had played less than 3 hours football in a year to be a desired choice by any manager!
im sure Potter would have been estatic had this happened to him.
This so called constant schedule is not much more denanding than the 2010/11 season under Brendan...in that season thete was an average if 5.4 days between games in fact ovwr the Christnas period we played games with a 2 day gap....this season games were pkayed on average every 5.1 games..Dyer nade 45 starts abd 48 appearances ..Conner has similar stats this swasn.....Sinclair made 42 starts and 47 appearances seems Brendan had his favourites too
