Barnsley v Swansea City : The USA loan player that is a complete success 15th May 2021 11:12
Swansea City had a dabble or two in the MLS over the last January transfer window. Jordan Morris and Paul Arriola are well documented, and the chances taken on them on the other side of the Atlantic proved fruitless. They are both now back in the USA. However, and very quietly, one Orlando City loanee in a Barnsley shirt has played nineteen games since his arrival in January, and has scored nine goals. He is what we call a proper ‘danger man’ 0

Its a great relationship to have. Consider a top young layer from Peru for example going to DC via their scouting system. The owners could develop him at DC for a season or two let him get a few caps, then send him on to Swansea on loan with an option to buy deal of £5m + percentage. Like Dike he could prosper seeing his Championsil valuation rocket to £20m. Swansea and DC very happy.

Swansea were linked with the young fellow from Southend with a US passport. He has not kicked on at QPR like Dike but you should be able to follow my drift. Synergies are a win win. Sages on this board are against these things. Europe is more difficult now in Brexit Britain. Viva Argentina.

Agreed.

Win win under the right circumstances.

https://www.barnsleychronicle.

Great bit of business if he's telling the truth. Very odd to agree to a fee that low when they've rejected bids of $10m according to you?

Anyway, lets hope he doesn't bolster his fee next two games.

Not according to me, I have no inside knowledge of Orlando FC - it’s according to various places including the BBC.

What do you mean “that low”? He hasn’t given a figure there.

He said they have the option to buy him for a fee closer to their usual fees they pay (closer than $20m). “Closer”.... not “in line with”.

So $10m would be closer to the usual fees they pay than $20m.

It’s quite possible it would be around that figure, plus of course the added loan fee and a potential add on should they be promoted which without any doubt would have been part of the deal to allow him to play in the playoffs.

Dike - totally destroyed by our young, clever, physical, solid no-nonsense young paring , cleverly selected and orchestrated by Cooper.

"Thick as mince".

A line you spew when the going gets tough for you. The audacity of the meek.

How sad, low and manipulated the Blaine has fallen. Go support your local team, you may find solace, locally.

hahahaha what are you going on about? It's not me saying he's worth $20m, you would be thick as mince to think that.

I actually agree, we handled him beautifully which is why Barnsley will be signing him for a fee closer to what their chairman has said.

But this has now confirmed AndyCole is Dr P

Whether he is worth it is another matter that nobody has discussed. You are again making things up or at the very least not understanding what has been said again.

I (and Chief) pointed out that Orlando value him at $20m. That is different to what he is worth, which is subjective.

Come on now, don’t make such basic errors when using phrases such as thick as mince.

Lets see what he goes for...

He has been a success at Barnsley at this level, fair play to him, as I keep saying, this blows your statement out of the water "MLS players in their off season doesn't work". Again.

We'll leave it at that, or atleast, I'll leave it at that.

Completely agree.

Both were outstanding, if Cabango can learn to be a bit more composed on the ball we have another absolute gem.

Complete testament to the squad when we have the likes of Roberts, Manning, Bennett on the bench last night, with the England U17 world cup winning captain in reserve aswell.

But that wasn’t my statement was it.... you cannot blow a statement out of the water they was never said.

That is completely fabricated. I thought you had trouble understanding things but it happens so often I just think you are a plain liar. No offence.

Cant you hold a conversation without having to make up what someone else says? No wonder you always say people are wrong... you just make up what they have said.

Why are you struggling to read this point then? I’ve corrected you twice in this thread alone, and once on the other.

If you don’t know what people say then you really should go making up quotes A
and then asking them afterwards.

You have no respect for common sense no, common sense is the enemy of hyperbole... which of course is your favourite thing with regards to Cooper.

I've made up no quotes. The simple way of putting it is.

You claimed MLS off season loans "rarely" work, then in the next breath their are articles wrote on here praising Barnsley, bottom three spenders, for one.

It's really that simple, you're statements are continually being ridiculed, over and over and this is why you thrash out like you do. It's fine, it's the new normal.

Right so you now understand I said “rarely” and not “never” then? Which of course absolutely shows you made the quote up. Keep up.

So back to the point, if I say people are rarely born with 3 legs, that doesn’t get disproven by showing me someone that has been born with 3 legs. I am fully aware there are examples, my point is that its rare.

Until it is common place for loans from the MLS to happen and be successful at this level, that statement will be correct. They rarely happen because they are rarely a good idea. Rarely.

Easy.

Ah, no faith in your statements. Fair enough.

Well, it worked for Barnsley, the same season you made your "rarely" statement.

I have to say Barnsley were TERRIBLE. Hoofball only has a place when the 'hoof' is directed kind of toward where your players are. Mostly it was 'hoofed' with no direction whatsoever. Awful. I seem to remember they were very good down the Liberty in the normal season game. Can't think what happened to them.

My only concern from Monday's game was the huge gap in the middle of defence on a few occasions in the second half. Cabango and Guehi were tremendous in the first half so I don't know how those spaces were left second half.

The idea that players in America can’t handle the Championship? What or who’s idea would that be then?

I don’t think anyone has ever made that point, have they? In fact many liked the look of Morris for the short time he was here. He looked more than a useful squad player.

One player making it doesn’t mean all will, though. It’s like saying Braithwaite went to Barca and has played loads of games, so blows the idea that Championship players can’t get into the Barca team out of the water. The overwhelming majority of Championship players still wouldn’t get anywhere near the squad.

Every player is case specific, league doesn’t matter. But what you cannot do is say they are a great player because they play well in a certain league, when that league is clearly a lot weaker. Arriola (who I assume you are going on about yet again) seems to be known for his poor passing and poor technique so the cards were always stacked against him making it in English football.
