Djokovic on 17:40 - Jul 11 with 545 views | britferry | He won it in 4 sets. Joins Nadal and Federer on 20 major wins... makes you wonder, how many majors Murray would have won in a different era away from these 3 greats

Djokovic on 17:51 - Jul 11 with 532 views | Catullus | I didn't watch the game but turned over just in time to catch them being interviewed, Berretini first, now Djokovic and thing stands out, they know how to win AND lose with grace, humility and humour. Well, that's one Italian loss in England today, they won't want two!

If you are Italian and had to take one loss, I know which they would choose.

Yep. Would have at least doubled his tally of slams IMO. Probably even got close to double figures. Djokovic alone has beaten him five times in Grand Slam finals.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Only Murray and Wawrinka have really won any slams other than the big three for the last 15 Years or more. Such a strong period for men’s tennis. I know Sampras won 14 slams but the 80s-2000s had some many different winners across the four. If Murray was around 1990s he may well have won 10. Still three and 2 Olympic golds is pretty good.

Murray got as good as he did due to the presence of the other big three, so to take how good he got with them and comparing it to another scenario where they weren’t there probably isn’t a like for like scenario. A bit like the invincibles of Arsenal, the simply wouldn’t have existed without Man United and their class of 92 setting that standard. But he would have won a few more no doubt, wouldn’t have got near a French still, but it’s a very specialised surface. Wawrinka probably would have 10+
