| That result is two fingers up to some on here on 00:56 - Aug 23 by Rock | Not going to go back and forth all night, Chief, I would imagine you are intelligent enough to understand what I am saying. But I’ll make it as clear as I can. The bedding-in period wasn’t one game it has been the whole start to the season. Throwing Piröe into the fire against Blackburn would not have been a good decision, much better to start him against “Reading’s youth team” like you say. He got a goal and played very well, and his confidence has risen as he has been able to come on slowly and get accustomed to English football, and get his match fitness up. There was no mistake there, we lost against Blackburn and that happens. Cullen played well and nearly got us into the lead after 15 minutes but for a smart save by Kaminski. The tactics were good, we came up against a better team that has several years playing together under a good manager. Not starting Piröe against Stoke was a mistake, and Martin quickly identified that and rectified it. I don’t think that cost us the match, Stoke were and are currently the better team and we lost on set pieces. As for the loans, as Cooper himself stated Morris and Hourihane were absolutely supported by him, he was very happy to get them in. Contrast his quotes with what he said about Arriola and that is very clear. Recruitment in modern football doesn’t come down to just one person, no, but Cooper was very happy to have them. More than anything, Cooper wanted to play with his u17 boys and win now over everything else, an unsustainable strategy for our club that has clearly backfired for us after not achieving promotion. He then walked away when the going got too tough and he failed to get his big move, leaving us in a mess that Martin has thankfully put in the right direction. As for Martin’s tactics I have stated reality. You can disagree with what I have said and that’s fine with me. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. I want us to dominate the ball more, work triangles, one-twos, create overloads and exploit pockets of space in the middle and final third. If you want clearances and low blocks, that’s your prerogative. You are not going to enjoy the rest of the season, then, as Martin’s system is built around these. I would suggest criticising more constructively going forward, less criticising our manager and club just for the sake of it as you have been, like with Paterson and Piröe. |
Well I disagree, would have done him absolutely no harm to have been at least on the bench at Blackburn. We needed a goal and our forwards that day had been largely anonymous anyway, so no pressure. A small cameo would have done wonders for his match fitness (far more so than his kick around on the beach). 3rd paragraph don't really disagree, apart from no acknowledgement at how depleted Blackburn were. An opportunity missed I'd have said. Again, Cooper couldn't have signed anyone without the club / Winters say so. To lay the blame for loans at Cooper's door is rather disingenuous, as you allude to yourself those 3 attacking player loans were instigated not by Cooper himself (whether he backed them in light of no permanent signings instead as an alternative is largely irrelevant). Well again, I'm pretty sure the club as a whole were more than happy to take advantage of the Cooper u17 link because it's fact that without it there's no way we'd have had players of the ilk of MGW, Brewster, Guehi, Gallgher etc at the club. And yes it didn't eventually work, but essentially it was quite low risk&I can understand why the club decided to go down that route. Ultimately it a gamble that was 1 game away from paying off. Difficult to speculate on his leaving. But as I say he received a pay out.....so it can't as simple as you seem to like to make out. You're misinterpreting or being deliberately disingenuous again in your final paragraph. I want everything you say too. Why wouldn't I? However, based on the constraints that Martin is up against I just don't think it's wise to employ that style 100% at all costs until everyone's full fit, Martin's got more players in that are more comfortable on the ball and all the players are comfortable buying into the style play. Judging by Martin's comments regarding the players taking their own initiative against the BC the latter clearly isn't the case yet, so I'm delighted they took the action they did& we got 3 points. And I see no harm at all us being a bit more savvy ans streerwise for a few games to come yet. Providing tactical ideas is all I've done and I'd say that is constructive. I've never said I want him sacked or that he's not up to the job or that his appointment was a mistake. Have I criticised Piroe? I've stated he should have played more!

Because you aren’t wrong, and he knows it. Which is why he’s relying on a small number of “likes”, many of which from his own trolling mobs Which in its self is shockingly embarrassing for a grown up. Silly boy.

Then strangely later said you disagreed. Then later you explicitly stated I was 'wrong'. Leave numbers/ arrows/ other posters being banned previously aside. You still cannot tell me how I'm actually wrong can you? You said I was yourself, so why aren't you able to say how? |
If he gives a specific instance, he knows it will all come crumbling down around him, which is why he is desperately trying to change the focus and talk about up arrows (cringe). He’s took some of the bait and narrowed it down to a fantasy point of sometime Wednesday, it won’t be too hard to find for him. Unfortunately, what he is, is a forum troll looking for conflict with posters he feels threatened by. Simply that. He has always been the same.

Agree with this post entirely. Why people are talking about Cooper, God only knows. However it’s clear he wasn’t backed in January when he (and we) were desperate for a number 9. We got some players in yes, but not in the position he was asking for and the position we were crying out for the most. As for Piroe, he should have been involved from the start. Whether that was on the bench or the n the pitch is up for debate, but he absolutely should have been a part of the squad from the start. Training with his dad on the beach isn’t going to develop him to get ready more than experiencing the match day routines in English football. You are also correct with regards to Russell. Nobody has said they want him sacked, nobody has criticised him, it’s a myth spread by a troll. What was said it we feel he is adaptable regardless of what we are told about his rigidity, and we back him to make the changes to the system so clearly needed, specifically being more pragmatic in defence. The next game that happened to the letter, and we won our first league game of the season. Absolute vindication.

Indeed. And the initial post seems innocuous enough if anyone leisurely perusing the forum after our win saw it, why wouldn't they up arrow it. But a few more posts from the OP and the agenda becomes clearer. Especially coupled with another thread started by the OP which again for a leisurely peruser of the forum that starting post in its literal sense you can see why casual observers would up arrow it. Of course people unfairly having a 'dig' at the manager should be ashamed. And at that point the OP got no real negative reaction. So a few posts in they unprompted then switch the narrative of that one from unlucky due to injuries to how dare people question the tactics (presumably looking for a reaction because the original post had been too innocuous and in its literal form fine, which they presumably had then realised). And then of course the reason for the thread becomes clearer there too. Unfortunately for them they dug themselves into hole because in their attempts to get that reaction presumably from you (I was probably an accident) - they inadvertently ignored the actual pattern of the game, what Martin said, what the pundits are saying, what even the consensus on here is.

That is word perfect. Those reading the OP, that aren’t in his newly formed trolling gang, may well be taking him on his word that people have slagged off Russell Martin. However since asking for examples it has become clear there aren’t any. If I created a thread saying “well done to Piroe for helping a lady cross the road with her shopping, a true gentleman”. I would get many “likes” because people would be taking me on my word that it’s true. When it fact it would be completely false and fabricated. “Likes” are irrelevant, facts are not. …………. “Unfortunately for them they dug themselves into hole because in their attempts to get that reaction presumably from you (I was probably an accident) - they inadvertently ignored the actual pattern of the game, what Martin said, what the pundits are saying, what even the consensus on here is.“ Again this is a perfect summary. They simply took a situation, in the hope to get a reaction without having the footballing intelligence to realise that everything that transpired proved their targets for abuse right, not wrong. Which is why you managed to get the OP to backtrack on his comments almost immediately regarding the system change… because by admitting it he would be ruining his own narrative. He felt his own narrative and his seeking out of my attention was far more important than the truth or having a consistent opinion; so he ditched it in a second. I will always give them the attention they crave, I will never back down from or ignore this behaviour, I’ll be replying still in a decade to this very thread - not an issue for me. They really didn’t need to try as hard as they did, or having all those breakdowns along the way. DGT73 was recently banned for this sort of behaviour, this individual is certainly quickly taking the space left by that troll, the path will no doubt end the same. [Post edited 23 Aug 2021 3:36]

Yes, facts are facts..... The likes obviously back up the facts. Probably liked the post because of the facts, those people knew or seen the examples to which you ask for. Quite simple..

The ''likes'' back up what appears to be a fairly innocuous OP, until you were asked further down the thread exactly what comments were made, prior to that some took your word for it... which of course you had no answer to. Predictably. [Post edited 23 Aug 2021 9:32]
