Huddersfield facts, stats, cats, mats and horses
In an era of progression, technology and intelligencia we concentrate on the Yorkshire folk of football. When the first car was seen in Huddersfield they hung it like a monkey left hanging from a north eastern tree. The result was complete horror, for a bit, then the exhaust was removed and they had a big feast. Later the car was moved to a local museum yet to be built. Many people converse with very little words in Huddersfield, basically just nodding at each other saying “I know, I know” Simply explained they know everything. It’s a revelation indeed.

Proof if it were ever needed

Huddersfield has the third highest of number of listed buildings in the country. The population of Huddersfield borough is approximately 270,000 making it the largest town in England. The list was drawn up by Joseph Lister an infection control specialist and list professional. When this was revealed in 1978 the people of Huddersfield already knew this. Other notable things about Huddersfield is they had the worlds largest nodding dog, until all the locals kept nodding at it as it nodded back. Harold Wilson the pipe smoking nasal sounding tobacco head is from Huddersfield.

It’s the weekend Russell Martin has to deliver 24th Sep 2021 17:54
I’m seeing the signs are you ? The extra shots, the braver football, the more dominance of the ball, and players not in the starting eleven being able to come in to the side and do the same, we saw that at Brighton. Yes, it’s all got clarity for me. 0

Swansea City raring to go against Huddersfield Town 25th Sep 2021 09:22
It’s the home game Russell Martin has been waiting for since the goalless returns against Hull City and Millwall. Since then an admirable and spirited fight back against Luton Town, and a back slapping performance with nine team changes against Brighton has been the return. However, today swans fans will want to see goals and points. 0

Swansea City: Ben Hamer; Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Manning; Ethan Laird, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (captain), Jake Bidwell; Olivier Ntcham, Jamie Paterson; Joel Piroe.

Substitutes: Steven Benda, Jay Fulton, Korey Smith, Brandon Cooper, Liam Cullen, Joel Latibeaudiere, Liam Walsh.

Huddersfield Town: Lee Nicholls, Harry Toffolo, Matty Pearson, Jonathan Hogg (captain), Lewis O'Brien, Sorba Thomas, Ollie Turton, Fraizer Campbell, Danel Sinani, Levi Colwill, Tom Lees.

Substitutes: Giosue Bellagambi, Alex Vallejo, Mipu Odubeko, Josh Koroma, Scott High, Duane Holmes, Naby Sarr.

It’s a win at last !

Swansea City turn on the first half style to win their first home game of the season 25th Sep 2021 17:29
It wasn’t a pretty second half but it was a glamorous and scintillating first half that gave the swans all the points this afternoon at the swansea.com stadium. The lack of home wins no longer needs to be mentioned, and the vast majority of Swansea City fans will be more than happy tonight. 0

To be fair to Cooper here we all know that most managers would have a paddy if the players they wanted weren't signed but players were signed that they didn't want. That is a stark staring fact, can you imagine Alex Fergusons repsonse if they'd refused to sign Ronaldo and forced A.N.Other on him?

They'd need a new hairdryer.

If there are managers expecting to be treated like Ferguson they'd better have cracking CV to justify that amount of faith.

The average player outlasts the average manager these days. Makes no sense to leave recruitment solely in the hands of a person who will always feel like they're <6 months of poor form from the sack. Signings need to be made with short, medium and long term impact considered, and sometimes that means disappointing a manager. If they want to throw toys from pram as a result that's not a mark in their favour imo.

And that's why I think our recruitment team are so important and undervaued.

This club is trying to work in the long term.

Same with the manager. They are trying to get the right system in plce, so that if/when he gets poached/sacked, another can come in in the same mould.

I do think that was meant to be the case with Potter - Cooper, but it turned out cOOPER DIDN'T WANT TO STICK TO THE GAME PLAN.

I didn't say expecting to be treated like Ferguson simply that no manager likes it when their wishes are ignored. Football clubs have been very guilty of short term thinking and yes, our owners are trying to to think long term which some on here don't appreciate.

Short termism is everywhere in football, from sacking a manager after 10 games or less to signing an expensive player on big wages who has maybe 18 months left in him. It's diffeent when you're Manyoo and Ronaldo though.

Clubs our size can't afford to be short termist, not if we want to be succesful.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

There was no gameplan at club level, we were caught with our pants down when Potter left and took the recruitment laptop with him. It was back to the drawing board.

Naughton and Grimes earned us these precious, unfamiliar 3 points, our very own Rocks.

The foundations from which everything flows, in the House Martins' building (for the twps, that means Martin (russ) and Martin (morgan) in cahoots, which of course is a marvellous thing for The Swansea Way. #brandMartin.

Much maligned by those that have never played the game to a meaningful level. Have a word with yerselves.

Piroe has to be the best striker we have had for years.

Best one we have had outside the PL?

.

Isn't he just.

Cooper signs him, he's chuffed to bits to be coming here to play under Cooper and it all goes tuts up when Martin unceremoniously rejects him, strips him of the #9 jersey.

Martin then gets it shoved where it belongs.

Tail between his legs, apologises to Piroe: 'Sorry I got it wrong' (Fact).

Watch Piroe's goal celebrations.

Worrying how Martin could get such a massive call so massively wrong. Much in the same way some of our twp fans do, blindly, continuously.

I do believe Martin was wrong to drop him v blackburn (unless there was a serious breach that we are unaware of - which is doubtful otherwise he'd have been excluded for longer than 1 game). We needed a goal desperately and our new striker was left out bizarre.

But credit to Martin since, he's using him correctly and it's paying dividends.

No breach, no nothing untoward. Here are the Facts:

'Simply', Martin was so arrogant at the outset (offset for the twp from the east) he rejected Piroe for being a Cooper man (Cooper spotted, pursued and acquired); discounted him despite his obvious talents in training.

- He selected then binned him unceremoniously from the matchday squad.
- He stripped him of the #9 jersey
- He, tail btn the legs apologised and said: 'I got it wrong'

Some of the twps on here choose to blindly see this as excellent man management.
The cleverer, and the senior players KNOW Martin fecked it up, big time.

And the key thing: Piroe clearly holds this against his rookie manager.

Andys view 2 months ago - "There's no wonder Cooper is still being pursued by Prem league teams. The senior England job certainly now beckons for Cooper, he is way ahead on his development curve. Let's hope our owners give him the bumper new deal he has earned."

Wow, no wonder you are upset with Russ.
