Shocking state of affairs. I’d like to say unbelievable, but it isn't. Some of people at the top seem to thing they are above law, the guy has gone as his position was untenable. So we now have another investigation, what concerns me know is the below quote from Downing Street. Ms Gray will ascertain the facts and present her finding to the PM, the guy who’s in the middle of all this is the one who’s getting the report in to the investigation!!! If he doesn’t like it he’ll probably try to ignore it or brush it under the carpet like the Priti Patel report.
A spokesperson for No 10 said: "To ensure the ongoing investigation retains public confidence the cabinet secretary [Simon Case] has recused himself for the remainder of the process. They said Ms Gray would "ascertain the facts and present her findings to the prime minister".
We need a root and branch review of Standards and a completely independent body to oversee and enforce the rules. What we have now is a joke.
I expect more of these stories to come out as Boris is damaged and there’ll be people looking to see him off.

I’d hardly call the likes of Simon Case and his colleagues left wing. Case et al are the top civil servants in the country, a significant number of them are privately educated, Oxbridge educated and the type I’d consider to be the establishment. The FDA represent the senior managers and Civil Service elite, hardly your left wing crew. The rot is at the top starting with Boris.

Interesting question.
Could be an ex employee who’s got an axe to grind, someone whose services were dispensed with or someone over looked for promotion. Could actually be the Conservative Party itself seeking to get rid of him or even someone looking to make some cash. It’s an insider for sure.

Absolutely shocking and disgusting. I’ve just seen the “worst case” scenario predicts there will be 6,000 deaths a day, I’d have hoped that kind of prediction would have seen the main players around the table thrashing out a framework to move ahead.
It’s not surprising we have the highest infection rate in Europe.
