I personally think it’s being over hyped. If Cooper wasn’t the manager of Forest would people be saying it’s a defining moment to be playing Forest at home? I doubt it. There seems to have been more hype for this one than the Cardiff game which I find quite crazy. I try and pride myself on not pressing the nuclear button when we lose and not pressing the overjoyed excitement button when we win, so for me it won’t make too much difference regardless of the result. I am far more focussed on the approach. If we play sensibly and smartly then the result won’t affect my opinion although my confidence will rise slightly that we are doing the right thing, if we play in a ridiculous manner which looks to have cost us points my then disappointment will go up slightly. At the end of the day, if Cooper loses then it means he’s lost 2 of his 13 odd games in charge and it takes him out of top 3 form since he arrived. If Martin loses then we drop from 14th to maybe 16th. It’s not really huge either way. What I hope we don’t see if we lose is people stoking up conflict by stating how good Cooper is (unless defending him against ridiculous lies of course) and if we win I hope people refrain from stoking up conflict with anti-Cooper stuff, it does open and sensible dialogue no favours at all. For once it would be nice to have a sensible reaction to a match and not have all out repetitive warfare after a result. Because in reality, nothing much changes regardless of result.

That’s football fans for you though isn’t it. Wigan away midweek in the league cup 10 years ago, 4,500 travelling swans fans. We’d have taken 500 if it wasn’t for the Roberto factor.
| If the swans lose today ? on 09:41 - Dec 11 with 1170 views | AndyCole | . Good thread, and I echo Dr_P's sentiments. And whatever happens today, I'm hoping it's already the Wake Up call Martin needed. I don't think today is THE marker, but given our recent run, Martin will be objective and mature enough to stray from his losing model, and revert to the more sensible, pragmatic winning set-up. I'm also hoping that as well as focusing ahead on his vision, he is currently looking around, and over his shoulder. Especially the big change at MKDons where his younger successor Liam Manning (ex league 2, belgium, no senior managerial experience here) has revolutionised Martin's ineffective mid table mediocrity, with pragmatism and common sense in mixing it up to deliver winning football. The biggest change at MKDons has been getting the balance right from being overly possession centric, vs mixing it up to not being too one-dimensional, playing it forwards with more urgency and being more direct; and having the resilience to see out games when under pressure. We're all hoping, some of us not with our eyes wide shut, that Martin continues to learn, revert to winning ways and then evolve that model into a more driving, higher pressing outfit. Instead of regressing, not learning, which is where he seems to have stuck. . . | |

| If the swans lose today ? on 09:56 - Dec 11 with 1155 views | Badlands | With a similar set of results Cooper achieved at this time of year in his first season … in a good position to make a case for incoming transfers in January. Where does it leave 'fans' of hoofball? In ecstasy that we have lost. | |

Careful now or you'll trigger somebody!!!!!! We all know (or should) we need a few new faces in the right spaces. it's been obvious for a while our squad hasn't the quality and/or depth in some areas.

| If the swans lose today ? on 11:14 - Dec 11 with 1082 views | LittleEnglandJack | If we lose today it'll just be a bad run of form after a good run of form. You know, it happens sometimes in football, even to the best teams. Important thing is to bounce back over Xmas. If we're still in a slump come the middle of January then I'll be concerned. | | | |
| If the swans lose today ? on 11:19 - Dec 11 with 1072 views | Brynmill_Jack | I think there’s a fair chance of us losing today if we persevere with our defensive set up over the last two games. Grimes should be rested to try out new ways of playing through our midfield but that’s never going to happen. | |

Forest have a stronger squad than us, I agree with you, they have underperformed and should have been pushing the top 6 before this season.

| If the swans lose today ? on 12:06 - Dec 11 with 1043 views | onehunglow | If we lose there will be more disaffection for the long term work in progress narrative that Russ puts out. It takes brave fans to demonstrate support at times of defeats caused by repeated errors and poor tactics . I’m not brave at all . I am fearful . I was after the first word games . Moronic maybe but visionary possibly. Prove me wrong Russ. Brighten our day, drop Grimes, play four at the back, Play two centre halves together .Don’t faff about at the back . Feed Piroe ,drop Cullen and start Obafemi and encourage him . We can do it but can YOU | |

Disagree. Who makes your starting 11 from them then? Garner and Johnson… then you would be struggling. Samba their keeper maybe?

Williams shouldn't even be on the bench as Johnson will tear him a new one. Funnily enough I think acs grimesey will turn up today and have a good game.
