I suppose in a way, one thing this forum has done for me is realise what a total bellend I am after drink..
Believe you me, my drunken posts are the complete opposite to what I am.
First of all, by talking about this on here, shows incredible bravery and an insight into the real you. Shows you’re strong and know you need help which is a massive step.
I’ve dealt with people in my job over the years with horrendous drink problems who end up in unbelievably bad situations. One lad I dealt with for nearly 10 years. Top bloke, polite, kind, when sober. Nightmare when drunk.
Tried the courses, kept getting breached, couldn’t accept he had a problem. One day, something clicked, he always had my mobile. Rang me around 5 in the morning in tears, saying he needed help. Went with him to his GP next day and he’s never looked back.
Now words as a youth offending manager, rings me every year on the anniversary. 7 years sober in March.
You are way ahead of him as you recognise it. According to him, that was the hardest part. Rest was easy.
You can do it,plenty of people on here that will listen.

Thank you John. Very kind words. I need help most definitely , because reading that I'm already trying how to think to get away with it, I can't!!
Yes, I think the only thing hindering me, is that basically I need help, I should do this on my own, like all the family will see I need help.
Hope you don’t mind me asking and feel free to ignore my post if you’d prefer, but do your family think you have a problem with alcohol? Have they said anything to you about it?

All the time mate.. She's in the front room, not speaking to me.. Just opened my last box of beer.. I haven't eaten today at all, Umm I'm a shambles of a person.
I'm going to do this, I may disappear from here for a while.. Because half of the drinking is the craic I get on the sites.. So i wish you all the best, and I love you all sorry for being a terwaat, many times..

Ok. So it’s not a case that you’re a secret drinker, she (and maybe) others can see there’s an issue.
You’re not a shambles, but it sounds as though you need help. As others on here have said, you’ve recognised there’s a problem and you now need to take the first steps to move forward. Have a word with your wife in the morning, tell her you want to change and want her help. Make that call. Have a look at the attached, it’s TV, but it’s powerful TV. Both actors had issues with booze in real life.

Thanks, And I like those comments, see you all on the flip side.. I think I'm done.
Mate, trust me I lost everything and came back, haven’t touched a drop for years, if I did I would be on the floor with you.
If you want a drink have one, if it means you get totally bladdered every time, you have to stop. If it means you can enjoy it and the company you are in, then continue.
Or do what I did, PM me if you need to.
I've been there too. My drinking nearly cost me my family, that's why I stopped.
These days I only ever have 1 or 2. If you can't then I'm 100% with NotLoyal, you have to stop.
If you ever need any support you can PM me too mate. You're not alone.
At least he is getting some help on here all he gets elsewhere is belittled and bullied by the Christmas Day loser.
God knows I can be arcane and capricious and can fall out with anyone but there seems on here to be massive sense of help and goodwill to those who have issues. The offers of help to 123 especially by fireboy are really something. It is something to be proud of and I m glad to be part of this.
Looking back, I'm sure I wasn't like this before covid., . But things will definitely change in the new year.
I'm going downhill fast with this. Like a plonker, I bought loads of beer Thursday, so got one box left and a bottle of jack. Once this goes, I'm looking for help.
Not good, it seems after a massive skinful, I'm getting anxiety attacks, took a dinner up to my mothers earlier, and I couldn't breath properly, then walking home a car pulls up ahead of me, and my legs go to jelly. Total weird, go near anyone, and I'm shaking. Only happens after a skinful, and it's horrible.
Maybe give the forum a rest at night. It seems it’s a bit of a runaway train for you - one drink, one edgy comment, one abrasive response, another defensive reply, another drink… and so on…. I’m not judging or picking at scabs but maybe steer away from triggers and be aware of people taking advantage of you, egging you on, etc. Be aware that people that argue with you are not necessarily the enemy.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
