| End of an era. Nowhere for racial slurs to go in 2022. 15:44 - Dec 30 with 3128 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Well done to the wales on line for speaking freely on this issue. The world of the pseudo obscene racial slurs in public life is gradually coming to an end. Sky sports has to face up to its obligations and protect Welsh sportsmen from racial slurs from drunken English louts just as it has done for Asians and people of African heritage. The louts and their Welsh apologists take note. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ (moved to non football area) [Post edited 30 Dec 2021 15:44]

People are laughing with some races, ethnicities and origins in jest and it being acceptable, while others is off limits and are getting punished for it by an insatiable society. Let’s say there was an Indian pitch side reporter and they said “back to you in the studio” at a Birmingham game for example… and the presenter said, “thanks for that now you can go off and eat a curry from one of the wonderful Indian restaurants around here”. Can you imagine the uproar? They may never work again and would get hounded by Twitter until they lose their job or have to issue an apology. Not really offensive though is it? Now reverse the ethnicities. A match at the seaside, Brighton for example. And the Indian host said “thanks for that, now you can go and try the wonderful British fish and chips around here”. Nobody would bat and eyelid. So currently there is not equal boundaries, but it’s designed that way because you will have a never ending amount of people falling over a barrier that is designed for them to trip over, meaning a never ending amount of people that others can attack for being a racist or a bigot. This insistence that only some people can make these good natured comments but others can’t is what needs to be stamped out. But that will never happen, so it should not be acceptable across the board on that instance. |
The key word is together, I played cricket with a guy from Bangladesh who had a family restaurant, he always brought food to add to the tea. We called him the curry king because he said he was a curry king. We all laughed together at this, there was no malice. I also played with a guy from St. Kitts in the West Indies called John, we had two Johns in the team. The guy from St.Kitts called himself Black Jack and the other John Not Black Jack when the Johns got confused. We all laughed together, no malice. This was low standard casual club cricket, people played when and if they wanted. John and Aftab were regulars, they took the piss as much as anyone, especially John as he was a very decent bat in club cricket and one of his stock phrases to white people who got out early was that black people don't bat like that! We still speak occasionally and enjoy a laugh although we live hundreds of miles apart. I work with a lady called Zee, who comes from India, when I make a mistake she often says that you couldn't do/say that in India! We talk about cultural differences and laugh at some of the absurdities in both cultures together. People from different cultures and backgrounds making the most of life. If people want to be offended go ahead. | |

Last week a guy in Swansea magistrates court got fined £500 for sh@gging a goat. His mate who faced the magistrates later that day, got find £1500, for acting the goat!! 🤔😇 [Post edited 1 Jan 2022 18:07]

| End of an era. Nowhere for racial slurs to go in 2022. on 14:32 - Dec 31 by Flynnidine_Zidownes | It’s part of all our cultures though. We know German people don’t generally run around wearing lederhosen and yodelling up hills. We know the Irish generally aren’t thick and drunk all the time. We know the french don’t wear black and white striped jumpers and ride around on bikes with onions around their necks. Turn on any American tv show and they’ll be portraying British people as stammering posh people obsessed with tea and with bad teeth. The Dutch don’t run around in clogs. Canadians don’t really have beady little eyes and flapping heads all full of lies. Other countries think of Britain as sexless and repressed but the evidence of 15 years of the Jeremy Kyle show proves the opposite. It’s everywhere, it’s always been everywhere and in the most part it’s not hateful, there’s no malice behind it. We can not lose the ability to take the piss out of each other, that’s a fundamental part of being human. If a few people get offended so what? |
In these islands it's a colonial thing, the English will take the Mickey out the Welsh, Scots and Irish and generally by the overwhelming majority it's taken in good part by the Welsh, Scot and Irish but when the Welsh, Scots and Irish take the Mickey out of the English in far greater numbers than the Celts percentage wise the English fail to take been the brunt of jokes very well because they are not used to it due to having had the whip hand in colonial days many of them struggle to be not offended when the joke is on them as they are not so used to it.
