His Mrs arranged a party in June for thirty people apparently.

I don’t think it’s too controversial to say that the rules have been broken on several occasions by Johnson and friends. (Whether you think the rules were wrong is irrelevant.)

What will be controversial is what will happen to the 118,963 people handed out fines if none are brought to the Conservative party.

Are you for Drakeford resigning Gwyn?
Are you for Drakeford being fined?
How about Starmer getting a fine?

I don’t know much about the Drakeford affair to be honest.

As for Starmer, it looked to me like he was drinking a beer whilst having a takeaway on the campaign trail. He got snapped with a still photo. I’d have no issue if the police decided that was enough to investigate. Personally, I don’t think so.

I don’t think it comparable to several large gatherings, some of which were at number 10, where invites were sent out and there’s a large amount of video footage.

Playing devils advocate here, if the people at these parties were just general downing st staffers, civil servants and the like aren’t they the ones fundamentally responsible for breaking the rules? Therefore how much responsibility actually lies with Boris? Is it his role to micromanage the actions of all the staff? It could be argued that a prime ministers time is more devoted to grander affairs of state and it is rather iniquitous to apportion blame for such comparatively trivial matters?

"Claims to be a free spirit but views the world and it’s problems as a binary left vs right dilemma rather than rich and powerful v poor and voiceless."

I don't make a claim, I am. That is how I live my life.
I see the problem with the Western World as the Leftist ideologues Vs everybody else (there are people who believe themselves to be on the Left now who will be attacked by somebody further to the Left than them in the future...that's how this shit works).
The problem in the Middle East, Northern Africa and Pakistan and Bangladesh is the Islamic ideologues (the dynamics of Islamic fanatics are exactly the same as the Western Leftist fanatic religion...exactly the same).

Answer me this (I know you won't, because you are incapable);
Why is it that the Democrat party in America, the EU elites and the Left in Britain seem to be aligned with multi-nationals, wall street, London, Frankfurt, the big tech billionaires of California, the corporate media and the rich and famous in the entertainment industry?

Don't kid yourself that people like you speak for the poor and voiceless son, nobody is buying it.

"The fact that you truly believe China is a communist country is a hilarity in itself. Wouldn’t put it past you to believe North Korea is free and democratic too"

China is controlled, ruthlessly, by the Chinese Communist Party. They achieved total control through the revolutions of Chairman Mao; "Socialism with Chinese characteristics".
I believe the point you are clumsily trying to make is that modern China now takes part in the Globalist Capitalist system.

A quick history lesson for you.

- Chinese Socialism had the same effect as all Socialism - namely it resulted in poverty and famine on an unprecedented scale (unprecedented in the context of China - This had already happened in the old Russian Empire of course...because they enacted the dangerous, wrong, ideas of Socialists first).

- This resulted in a rebellion of sorts in South East China, people were forced to engage in Capitalism again there or starve. The Chinese Communist Party had 2 options, crush the upstarts and risk further (more violent) rebellions or turn a blind eye.

- The CCP turned a blind eye and then took the olive branch being offered by the USA under Leftist, failure President Jimmy Carter.
Now China permitted Western Capital in certain cities and regions...but with tight restrictions, Chinese Communist Party took their cut every step of the chain.

- This resulted in everybody winning;
1) Chinese Communists retain their grip over the country and the corrupt regime gets richer.
2) Chinese people don't starve, get wealthier (because they are able to be employed by Capitalists - middle management = a middle class)
3) Multinational Corporations now have an extremely large, extremely cheap (slave labour some would call it) Chinese workforce to use in the manufacturing process...all your luxuries are possible because of the exploitation of these people, made possible by the failure of Socialism
4) America and Europe hope that by doing a deal with the CCP and dragging hundreds of millions of Chinese out of peasantry that they will one day benefit from a new huge export market for high tech goods manufactured in the West...

...but of course, because we left the deranged Socialists of the CCP in charge (assisted them to retain their grip on power) this market was never going to pay the dividends we hoped as the deranged Socialist of the CCP were always going to use their new found wealth and power (new in a global context) to attack those evil Capitalists in the West!

Which is what we are all now living through.

The CCP are now making their push at toppling USA from it's perch and becoming the dominant World power. If they succeed we will all be governed by corrupt Socialists, and we will all get poorer.

“Why is it that the Democrat party in America, the EU elites and the Left in Britain seem to be aligned with multi-nationals, wall street, London, Frankfurt, the big tech billionaires of California, the corporate media and the rich and famous in the entertainment industry?”

The Democrat party is a right-leaning party. The left in the UK have been buried by Murdoch’s media empire. The last US President was a rich and famous person in the entertainment industry. Hope this helped.

Your oversimplification of the history and rise of state capitalism in China is hilariously incorrect and brutally false. This paragraph is especially hilarious - “The CCP are now making their push at toppling USA from it's perch and becoming the dominant World power. If they succeed we will all be governed by corrupt Socialists, and we will all get poorer.”

So if China rose up through the greatness of capitalism how on earth are they all also a bunch of degenerate socialists at the same time? Are they the prime example of capitalism or socialism?

You are a facebook indoctrinated soul and I wish you well in returning to a sound state of mind, ready to handle real politics (and not modern day McCarthyism where everything scary in the world is a communist conspiracy!)

I don’t live in Wales - it’s not really been in the media.

Just for clarity I think the Senedd has woefully underperformed and devolution has been a failure thus far. I’m no Drakeford supporter or fan.

That’s where I am politically.

I think that’s a valid point but it’s gone too far now.

If Johnson wanted to present this defence, he would have had to call out his colleagues earlier.

Now he’s just got an issue over culture throughout his administration.

...but you only call for the removal of Boris, Drakeford you are perfectly fine with...did I get that right, you are not calling for Drakeford to resign?
...and the other posters on this thread who love Drakeford are not calling for him to step down either...

...despite Drakeford being guilty of exactly the same thing as Boris, namely that he implemented lockdown rules on us, which he then ignored.

If you aren't calling for Drakeford to step down as well then you have no business attributing the qualities of; principles, honesty, integrity and respect...to yourself.
No business.

He Drakeford hasn't broken any rules he was on premises where food and drink are served same as say a pub you don't have to wear a mask

One thing politicians should realise is?.... Since time immemorial a lot of stuff has never stayed 'in-house' and that applies to ALL political parties.

Leaks, betrayal, clash-of-personality and treachery are hardly new occurrence phenomenon. It has applied to the likes of ISIS, the UDA, the IRA, big-business, the mafia and organised crime etc also!

So It has indeed happened within all walks of life also. Human nature hey! That is why words like 'leaks'...."informant"...."grass"....."tout" and "whistleblower" etc are so often used. And? That is why conspiracy theories are absolute bullsh1t!

Politics is a cut-throat thing, it has many sociopath's within and that applies to 'spin-doctors' also! It's a ruthless business where some people can sleep soundly at night whether that be Thatcher with the Belgrano or Blair with Iraq. Despite being seen as a strength, the ability to sleep at night does rather make people complacent and negligent?

Argus!

No it's not sorry Jim.

Boris was in a garden, in the fresh air with some staff and colleagues, saying thank-you for their hard work.

...and Drakeford?

"First Minister Mark Drakeford of Welsh Labour was caught on film dancing maskless at a crowded celebration of the Indian festival Diwali last week at Cardiff University. The footage shared on social media, and reposted by the Nation.Cymru news website, went viral on Monday, prompting accusations of hypocrisy.
Wales had imposed some of the strictest rules on its people in the United Kingdom, including banning supermarkets from selling so-called ‘non-essential’ items during the October 2020 firebreak lockdown and even banning supermarkets from selling toys days before Christmas of that year. More recently, the government voted in favour of domestic vaccine passports for entry to large venues like sports arenas and nightclubs, with the requirements extended on Monday to cinemas and theatres."

What exactly was that dunce doing?

Explain it away to yourself however you want, just don't pretend that your outrage re: Boris is about principles and not expect to be called out.

Which regulations was Drakeford breaking when he went to the Diwali event?

Boris has been present at numerous functions in breach of the regulations, there is no comparison.

- When Cummings did what he did, I didn't care (the irony that he is now some kind of hero to those that flayed him alive for daring to drive his own family in his own car up a motorway.

- When my neighbours (Guardian readers) who had done exactly the same thing as Cummings, flayed him alive, I didn't care.

- When various Lefties were called out for hypocrisy and were shown to be breaking lockdown rules, I didn't care

- When Boris is shown to be having some drinks with colleagues in a garden...I don't care.

I worked throughout all of this and observed lots of people breaking rules and being hypocrites all around me...I DON'T CARE.

Drakeford doesn't believe he is at risk of the virus does he son, be honest with yourself.
