Swansea City v Luton Town : Matchday Thread: 21/22 (H) AFTERMATH 06:41 - Jan 30 with 13902 viewsNotLoyal

It was a thrilling but filling game the last time these two clubs met, Ryan Manning was kicked up in the air and got booked and other things happened which makes me think these numptys coming our way are due one. Or two.

Martin is too stubborn to change the system, clearly not working.asfor Fisher, another keeper who's afraid of crosses and won't come off his line...we going backwards at a speed of knots

Well…….he’s going to have to change something……
That team tonight looked shot of confidence to me.
Classic not taking chances and letting silly goals in,there’s only so much of that players can take before it starts draining them.

This clown has to go!!
He’s an absolute charlatan of a so called football manager, and his CV of finishing 19th and 13th with MK dons has come home to roost.
This passing out from the keeper bollocks, and just passing for the sake of it, is doing my nut in.
For the first time in years, I couldn’t be bothered to go down tonight, and I’ve been a season ticket holder for a million years.
And I won’t be rushing back either.
And thank feck I didn’t bother, because that (and previous shite) was the most boring football I’ve watched for a long long time from a Swans team.
And finally ,I’ve had enough.
Congratulations to the secondhand car salesman, Bluffell Martin, He’s invented walking football in The Championship !
You have to question a manager and his staff, that can’t even work out in training, a way around the fact, that your team doesn’t look remotely like scoring from a corner/ set piece, for is it about 120 corners?
The worst team stats on corners in ALL the leagues!
Something is seriously wrong with this guy.
I think he has a narcissistic personality.
Take your pick from this dictionary description:

Symptoms may vary from person to person. The most common symptoms include:
Being overly boastful, exaggerating one’s own achievements
Pretending to be superior to others
Lack of empathy for others
Looking down on others as inferior
Monopolising conversations
Impatient, angry, unhappy, depressed or has mood swings when criticized
Easily disappointed when expected importance is not given
Always craves for “the best” in everything
Has a very fragile self-esteem

I don’t think he would take advice, even if Sir Alex Ferguson gave it to him.
If we carry on with this joker then relegation is a real threat.
And yes, I know we can’t get rid of him.

But apart from that, ok??

Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

To begin with we didn't deserve to lose that, we had a lot of not just possession, but very good possession, we lack anybody who will take a shot on or make a telling oasis Grimes found Obi again and he fluffed his lines once more. Its almost comical when we have a throw in and the thrower has no-one to throw to.

Our left hand side lost concentration again.
The Shrewsbury lad had better start next game.
Get Hamer back in goal. Fisher? More like a landed fish.

I thought it was better. Shape functional. Wolf started to show why he was an £8m player. Christie definitely an upgrade on Laird. First 8 minutes was as poor as we've been but for the half hour after that we were breaking well as well as keeping hold of it.

Not sure about the keeper. Made one save which was palmed out into the danger area. Rooted when a few shots flashed wide. Doesn't magically solve the problem of our keepers getting caught with the ball at their feet.

Got off to a poor start but picked up after the first 15, very disappointing result after the amount of chances we had to at least draw that game.
At least Kyle Naughton can’t be blamed this evening, Smith had a better game but doesn’t do it for me.

It was definitely better apart from the first 10mins or so.Far too early to judge Fisher but on the face of it not a huge upgrade of either Hamer or Benda, couldn't believe they played him into trouble in the first 3 mins though.
We played quite well in parts, thought Grimes was excellent today, though why he retains free kick duty is bizarre. Obi tried hard to be fair but is in desperate need of a goal. Ntcham is definitely flattering to decieve bit appears immune from criticism.

Well tonight was the cherry on the cake after yesterday's joke of the final day of the transfer window and the stories emerging from the non signings.

He changed the shape, played 4-5-1 and after a shaky start we got into it. We were very naive and Luton very street wise.

Our confidence is low
We had tired players after 60mins
Martin IS Truely pissed off with the board
We need the Paterson saga sorted and him playing

We are in the mire and something needs to be done to get the spark back..... There was a lot of frustration and annoyance towards the board and that's not helping the situation but I can understand the feeling towards them.

Martin has a job on his hands here, he now seems to want to change the shape in order to work with what he gas after being let down in the window.

Tonight can't be defended and I would even say that Martin should have made a few changes around the 60minute mark.

We need numbers in there, Martin will be calling the free agent market card in the next week so let's see what happens there.

I didn't like the look of Fisher, Hamer seems far more commanding, have to cut him some slack as it was his first game, but it looks like he's doesn't like crosses, he had no chance with the goal though.

Fisher was shocking.
Give me Hamer, Benda or Tatey any day before Fisher.
Cabango had a really good game as did Downes, Grimes, Christie (tired towards the end), Naughton and Smith.
Manning, I think, has let his star performances get to him and he was out of position far too often. Obafemi is busy but totally ineffective and Wolf is finding life difficult.
Other were OK but the left side was again lacking.
Hopefully the Shrews player will add a defensive bite on that side.

Board won't sanction any free agent signings, no chance. The board had a shocker of a day yesterday, but it could be that they didn't want Martin to spend any more money, maybe they're a bit concerned with the way things are going, with him at the helm.
Then again they shat on Cooper this time last yr, when things were looking good on the field of play, who knows.

Couldn't say either way if they trust him but I know that Winter and Martin are fuming with the owners.
A lot of unrest at moment and it wasn't a good vibe around the stadium from the off.

I am not sure if we are limited with bringing free agents in due to wage limits but Martin is very worried with the final third and its putting extra pressure on the defence.

Martin has a great future in management but at present he has a big job on his hands for such a young manager. Hopefully he rides through this storm and uses it as a learning curve.

We had a few cracking chances last night, Obafemi had 2 good chances and should have put 2 away for me.

Good summary that MD, ultimately game was won by the side with greater confidence & belief that they would win it - happens a lot in sport & will be difficult for RM to lift them particularly noting the off pitch tensions & his relative lack of experience in doing it.

Not sure if we’d look at the frees right now but that might change if we pick up some key injuries.

Hard to read the off pitch stuff, for me it feels like the owners were looking to spend a few quid mid-window - hence the O’Riley & Darling negotiations - but then clearly changed strategy sometime in the last 8/9 days and closed the wallet. Whether that is a pure financial call or losing belief in RM we shall see - interesting that Jake whilst a Director is not an owner (yet) & he is/was RM’s loudest supporter.

PS Pato back wanting to play might just be key to the next 19 games.

We need Paterson back for sure, think if he plays with 4 at the back, would look at Paterson as a 10 but I feel we should be strongly looking to get Garrick back to play Right wing. I really see Garrick doing something in that formation with the way we play, someone with raw pace brings an extra weapon plus he seems to have brought an end product to his game whilst at Plymouth.

Do we know if we can recall Garrick, I’d have thought now window is shut he’s gone until June.

We spent money on Fisher,Martin's protege that we could have spent where we needed it.
We did not need another keeper.
He was the first in;Martin's priority.

He looks appalling and I feel for Hamer.

We are in crisis and make no mistake

Good honest post again, I have waited to reply as last night i was so annoyed reading some posts on this board some of them highlighting the fact that they know nothing about football.

We startrted slowly as you correctly say Jasper but then settled and played some excellent football which had everyone around me supporting. Grimes Downes Christy and a special mention for Ben who was superb. Wolfy was finding his feet physically and getting better by the minute.

As for the keeper i agree you cant judge yet he started the way we need to play and was given a rough ride by what i think is our weakest link Bennet, teams must be rubbing their hands seeing him on the teamsheet. He continued throughout the match moaning and blaming and in my opinion contributed to their goal leaving the middle wide open. He should have been sold as he will never fit into a RM team.

Luton were a really fit good team and if we could sign their 32 i would be a very happy Jack.

Goals change games. We didn't take our chances they put one in.

No shirt Sherlock stuff but if we don't put the ball in the opposing net we don't win games and failing to score is becoming a huge concern.

It’s crazy what chances we create with no finished product.

Been happening for a while, clear cut chances going begging. We relied on Piroe and Pato for too long, was always going to end in tears. Need more contributing to our goals for column. Would loved to have seen Ben's header to have crept in, would have given him so much confidence. Our lack of effectiveness from set plays is ridiculous.
