Warning 🟥
Footage of civilians in Ukraine being shot by Russian soldiers.

Some may not be able to see the footage -
If you want to view it then go to you tube and search on Radio Free Europe. Their catalogue of footage is horrendous but it’s what is happening. Normally YouTube would ban this but they have left their filters open for this type of content from Ukraine. It can’t be suppressed tbh.

US funded media network that broadcasts to countries without free media. Operated all through the Cold War. The subject of REM’s debut single which is why I know.

No doubt some Putin apologists will come along to tell us it’s all lies and propaganda.

I had to shut it off but agree it should be allowed so people can see what are basically war crimes being carried out.

I’d live it if Putin was captured alive. But then, would we have the guts to treat him like Gadaafi or Sadam?

Russia would have to be invaded and taken over for that to happen and that'll never happen, I'm hoping his own will top him, but he's imbedded himself in what seems an impregnable place, security must be incredible.

I haven't seen the video and won't either.

A lot of what the free press produce isn’t that good to watch, they even killed the guys dogs in one piece of footage.

This war must be a bit of a pull for those Russia (Really?) loving foreigner males males wishing to embark on 'a military adventure' of type wanting to look hard with a AK47 in a selfie or two.

Who the Feck wants to go and fight for the evil and immoral side deemed the bad-guys, in someone else's territory/back yard when there is a language barrier, cultural difference and lack of military integration?

To make things even worse is the obvious lack of emotional attachment to a foreign land whilst fighting someone else's war. Morale, willpower and motivation sapping that! The novelty and excitement is gonna wear off pretty fast! Fighting against fanatical and embittered soldiers defending their beloved homeland is the wrong type of war to be a mercenary or gun for hire!

I could not think of any worse a place to go to!

Argus!

As daft as that is Loh, the more concerning part is Moscow back interfering in Africa. Something that led to disaster in Ethiopia and Angola to name but two. Poor decisions and isolationism by recent US Presidents have allowed Moscow and especially Beijing to extend huge influence around the world. And whilst US influence may not always be benign, it’s nowhere near as malign as these countries .

The "West" have caused this chaos, by trying to enforce their will and beliefs of other Countries which has threatened the likes of immature dictators like Putin and other despots.

Absolutely. I started a thread on here a few years back trying to draw attention to what was happening in Africa with the Chinese swarming all over the old Rhodesia and them practically colonising The Horn, culminating in the construction of their huge military base in Djibouti. Likewise the Russians poking around in the Congo and the new links they were forging in South Africa with the ANC.

The upshot this last few weeks being the abstention of sixteen or seventeen African countries in the UN vote on sanctioning Russia over the invasion of Ukraine. From independence to Putin’s pocket squares in a couple of generations.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Most people know exactly who caused/manufactured this invasion.

Although, having a democratic country as neighbours would be seen as a threat to some.

Keith, can I ask if you posted anything since 2014 about the Ukranians killing other Ukranians, in particular about 3500 civilans?
If you think these atrocities are just a Russian thing you are totally deluded.
I suggest you educate yourself about the Ukraine/Russian Separatist wars.
A good place to start would be here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

I am not excusing what is happening now, just adding some pespective, but indiscriminate shooting, bombing, rocketing & shelling by both sides is not new in that area and has been going on for years.

It's what is happening now that counts, the past is the past and can't be changed, whether true or false.

At the moment the Russians are invading a neighbouring country, destroying their cities and killing civilians, innocent women and children included, I suggest you go educate yourself mate.

The West caused it when it was apparent to those on communist countries that they would be happier in capitalist countries . Ironic many of ours actually hate the very system that feeds us and gives us freedoms the east could only dream of.

Putin wants it back. All of it.

Merely pointing out what the people at RFE are doing, I think you will find a post regards the situation in Ukraine from last year, I didn’t even do forum stuff before I took over the site. However, war hasn’t got any real answers and picking sides has never been my thing.

As for perspective, personally I’m aware of what has been happening since Ukraine left the Soviet Union, the right have an influence in Ukraine but then there are alleged right wing militia fighting against Ukraine in the conflict you refer to.

My band played in Ukraine in 2016 for a joint benefit in the Dombas region. So, knowledge as such is okay, obviously not as much as the real victims of that and this conflict. Spent a week in Donetsk which was still suffering then from terrorism, often unreported. Problem I have I think is I have found a way of remaining totally untouched by political influence or opinion for a number of years. Just human well being.

Hence this OP. I suppose if I did post on all my world concerns on here people would soon get bored. BTW I still have a very firm belief of an eye for an eye, but only in exceptional circumstances, like personal attacks on close friends and family, it’s happened since I’ve been running this site. So I do have sympathy with anyone who has been dragged in to any conflict who loses family. Regardless of the side they came from.

Best I can do mate.
