I’ve seen lots of comedians on the South Wales club circuit and they were all pretty good, but the best comedian I’ve seen in person was a guy called Gary Skyner up in Liverpool, he was simply outstanding. Wife wanted to see Michael Macintyre, my hopes weren’t very high but I was pleasantly surprised, she thought he was great. I don’t think that seeing them on TV or in a huge venue is the same as seeing them in a small venue. | | | |

Agree with pretty much all of these. Was a big comedy fan..and still am of course...and saw everyone back in the day. Now it's a struggle. Have plans to get a Comedy Club up and running in Gib in the next few years with a few people...but decent old school comics are few and far between now. It will happen though and we'll bring them out here from the UK. Need about a dozen good ones over the year to make it work...as in break even..it'll be a labour of love.. The type of comedian who just repeats something someone said and goes "isn't this stupid/outrageous" or simply makes a slight tweak to a mildly amusing twitter take. Russell Howard is the culprit that springs to mind for this, but there are many who fit the mould currently. |  | | |
