| Eluned Morgan 19:39 - Apr 27 with 2322 views | raynor94 | Has been found to have broken the assembly code of conduct after being convicted of speeding 4 times. Drakeford has tried to sweep this under the carpet, saying he has dealt with it. Bearing in mind the pair have been highly critical of Boris over party gate, Ms Morgan even said it defied belief, that people would go to a party, yet being caught speeding 4 times doesn't seem to matter! A classic case of double standards | |

The plebs can continue to see speed limits arbitrarily reduced for no reason whatsoever, whilst those in charge carry on doing whatever they see fit. |

Now is not the time with his leadership helping Ukraine against the Russian invasion into Ukraine. I bet Putin would love him to resign so now is not the time. |

Well it would save Putin money. After all he has funded Johnsons Tory party for years. The Tory MPs should throw him out tomorrow. Ellwood or Rory Stewart would be a huge improvememt. Gove is simply waiting for Johnson to fall.

If she doesn’t resign she should get the boot. Boris should be booted out by his MP’s - those that defend the indefensible should also been booted out by their constituents at the next GE. Standards must be applied consistently and fairly regardless of the political party concerned. [Post edited 28 Apr 2022 23:02]

it's time people stopped blindly voting for the same tired old party just because theyalways have voted that way. it's time people looked at other candidates and chose who they think best represents them. Over a week ago I emailed one of our local Labour candidates, I asked some pertinent questions. She emailed back saying she needed to have a meeting with the town clerk (scheduled for that afternoon) so she could find out the answers for me. That was 16 days ago, I think she's hoping I forgot. The reality is I have written her off, she has no chance of getting my vote. If she is the quality Labour are pushing we should ignore them and choose more wisely.

Possibly I am the only one who thinks neither should go. Both people IMO broke the law but minor offences, as seen by the size of the fines. With one breath we say politicians need to live in the real world and in the next breath criticise them when they do. As I have said before, how many of us bent the lockdown rules and have been caught speeding.

You have a point there. The hypocrisy from Drakeford calling for Boris to resign for breaking the law, yet brushing it under the carpet when Morgan breaks the law I find amusing 😂

It’s the lack of an alternative where the real problem lies at the moment. The third most represented party in the HoC is the SNP! Where are the liberals etc., taking advantage of this political shitstorm. Nowhere to be seen. There isn’t a credible opposition party, though I did believe Starmer was the answer at the time, I think I was wrong. I’m a middle of the road Tory by nature by the way.

Sorry I can't agree with that , they as MPs represent their constituents and therefore the lowest standards they display are the highest then they can expect others to have. It becomes a slippery slope downwards once behaviour by our "betters " declines then so does society , as we can all see around us

Yes, lets look at the size of the fines and then compare them to fines handed out to ordinary people for breaking the same rules, https://www.newstatesman.com/c How many were at the parties in Number 10? If it was more than 30 then the fine should have been 10k, it being Bojo's home. Your last line, maybe if the people who make the rules obeyed the rules it would filter down BUT when the people who make the rules ignore the rules, what do you expect to happen? I thought it was supposed to be lead by example? Not do as I say, not as I do. besides which Bojo and others in government continued to insist no rules had been broken long after the cat was out of the bag, then it became "I didnt think any rules were broken" and now it is lets move on. Well no. In the grand scheme of it, what Morgan did is fairly minor, she didn't cause any damage but what Bojo did when tens of millions of people were obeying rules, not seeing loved ones, certainly not partying and then to repeatedly lie about it...it should not be acceptable.

I’d have a bit of sympathy if she had just been caught once. Even the most diligent of drivers can creep over the limit and get stung. But she has been caught and banned multiple times.
