I don't entirely disagree but even so, if it gets as hot as they say people need to be careful. I work outdoors a lot, if you're out in the sun a lot you need to be cautious. It's not going to hit 40 here but even at 32-33 it's dangerous if you're very active.

Of course people need to be more careful in what they do on hot days, but do we need the news to be telling us every half hour.

SA1-beachfront also has its own microclimate - while most of Swansea (esp to the east) is under a cloud (in so many ways), The Bay is gloriously sunny, more so when out on a boat. Best kept secret. We'll be fine, in these here parts.

I agree. We had three straight months of 90 degrees (32 o C) in 1976. We called it summer back then. They are causing panic over a two day temperature raise into the low to mid 30's - unbelievable.

It’s going to be hot for a few days, nothing to write home about. As for work, employers have a responsibility under the 1974 health & safety at work act. If the workplace isn’t safe for whatever reason including being to 🥵 hot, workers are entitled to stop work.

I love the weather here, the hotter the better, plenty of ways to cool down. It’s great when it’s around 26c but like yesterday when it was 41c it’s ok, swim, chil relax. People still work in these conditions, outside and in. If you do get a bit warm, turn the air con on and have a siesta. There’s loads of gyms here huge pools, you see kids playing football in this weather. No bother. Spain has many drawbacks for some people but they don’t scare the population to death at every turn via the media. Apparently more energy and travel reductions tomorrow.

Never been down your way but we owned a holiday property in Nerja for 10 years. Our next main goal is to spend a few months at a time there or move out full time. I love the Spring and Autumn times and have had some great Christmas times in shorts and T-Shirts eating in a Chrininguito on Christmas Day. [Post edited 17 Jul 2022 13:27]
