Don’t Neil for Alex on Wednesday night.
Its yet another new manager facing the Swans.

Speed merchant in town and ready to flex his muscle against Stoke City 30th Aug 2022 12:49
Armstrong Oko-Flex the West Ham starlet who is finishing off the basics of his deal today at Swansea is in a race against time to be included in tomorrows match day squad for the swans against Stoke City. FAW paperwork always holds up transfers to Welsh clubs. 0

Swansea City would like to advise supporters heading to tonight’s game against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium to please collect their pre-paid match tickets as early as possible to avoid queues.

Supporters who are not yet in possession of their match ticket can collect these from turnstile 55 at the bet365 Stadium which is located next to the away entrance.

Collections will be available 90 minutes before kick-off and supporters are advised to collect tickets as early as possible.

Swansea City earn a point when really it should have been three ( again ) 31st Aug 2022 22:19
Regardless of what anyone says about yet another late late goal which deprived the swans of the honours it was a much better performance all round for Russell Martin’s Swansea City. However, yet again it signifies a lack of character in the Swansea defence which concedes goals late on as if it’s a given part of their game. 0

Not buying the better performance.
More direct but poor end product and very lucky at the back.
A point is a point but nothing learned from recent games.

We were certainly more direct yes.

That always happens when you scale back possession and, pass count etc.

All the lowest of the season.

But if we are trying to make “Martinball” work, this has to be the worst performance we have seen under him?

52% possession
400 odd passes
78% completion

This is what I’m trying to get to the bottom of, what metric are we now using for performance analysis?

When Cooper produced those numbers it was dross. But now Martin does it and it’s much improved. It’s barmy.

Do we want heavy possession, high pass count football or not?

The reaction to this game is confusing.

Didn't see most of the game thanks to the same connection problems most posters seem to have experienced, but wasn't tonight's game evidence that we have more quality in the squad than the results so far would suggest? (Well done Cooper O, now can we see Cooper B and Williams D get a chance? And welcome back Joe Allen YJB)

Presumably we can all agree on that, regardless of whether we think the glass is half full, half empty or just think that it doesn't matter because nobody's going to change it any time soon?

For me the home game on Saturday is Martins catalyst.

Yet another very late capitulation, Martin hasn’t learned.
Should be gone before the weekend.

If Martin isnt going anywhere ,we are screwed.
You admitted you were losing faith
Getting behind the team should mean not allowing them to be ruined by a coach like Martin.

Sad to see the same old rhetoric from you.
Clear as day Martin is going nowhere.
Just accept it, it will be less painful for you then.

We had more possession, as is usual.

Yet the opposition managed to create twice as many dangerous attacks as us and attempt twice as many shots on goal.

It appears to be business as usual to me. Even down to the inability to sensibly see a game out. That wasn't their only big chance at the end of the match.

49 / 51 is hardly the 70% we have got used to seeing.
Also they were the home side so you expect them to create more chances.
However for all their chances they had 4 on target, we had 5.
So hardly " business as usual "

That they had more scoring opportunities? Double in fact.

Strange way to agree with me.

Home side creates more chances.
What a shock.
Shots on target count, they had 4 we had 5.
Give praise where it is due for once eh ?

Praise for what exactly?

For not losing against a side in 16th? Jesus Christ man, this manager has sucked every last drop of ambition and pride out of this side that we feel we have to celebrate when we don’t lose.

1 win in 15 games STID. Let that sink in.

Right?

Do the math.
5 is more than 4, they can create as many as they like off target.
It is the one(s) on target that potentially hurt

I don’t understand what point you are making.

Opportunities are the key factor of any football match, my complaint that you are referring to is with regards to “our dominance”.

Having 75% of the ball and one shot extra on target doesn’t strike me as “dominance”. My analysis does and always has gone far deeper than “shots on target”.

I’ll tell you how RM can win with me…. Win.

That’s a thought aye?

It’s not the way to look at it at all, let alone the only way.

You don’t “create a chance on target”, you create a chance. What their strikers do with it is up to them, not us.

Goals scored are the only stats that count towards the actual result if you want to strip it back to such a basic level.

That was 1-1. Hardly something to be dancing in the streets about is it?

It’s another last minute capitulation. You should be furious.

Some expected a mauling when the team was announced.
So will take 1-1, although gutted to concede so late and in the manner we did

Have a look through this thread and you will find a criticism of the manager from me regarding our stupid goal kick tactic.
Have a look through his posts for the past 3 years and beyond and that’s all you’ll find is total crap and the odd smiley when the opposition score.

Genuine question - who was expecting a mauling looking at the side?

And if so was it because of how we play or because of the quality of the teams?

This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."
