| Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread 22/23 UPDATED THURS 12:19 - Sep 7 with 3323 views | KeithHaynes | It’s the blues v the swans. The swans are in a roll with a whole game undefeated and the blues are on a roll as well with the same stats. Cooper ready to fly again with the Swans ! 8th Sep 2022 06:33There’s little reason to not believe Swansea City can pick up all three points in Saturday’s away game at St Andrew’s, Birmingham. There has been an upturn in form from the swans in front of goal and it seems a more direct approach to defending. That being said Saturdays opponents are deserlsrately looking for three home points. 0 After selling out the initial allocation of 1,500, a second and final allocation of tickets for the away fixture has been made available. Call the club ticket office.

Yes, I think they will. It does puzzle me though, who decided that closing down sporting fixtures would be a mark of respect? When other places are open? Pubs, Nightclubs, just why pick Sports for shut down? [Post edited 9 Sep 2022 0:30]

This is a situation where whatever decision the powers that be make some will not be happy. Damned if they do damned if they don't, whatever is decided it needs to be for all sport.

OHL. I respected the Queen but I am anti Monarchy as are quite many people. There's no need to say bad things but at the same time many of us don't see why our lives have to hit pause. She was a great woman, a great servant to this country and she will get a magnificent send off which a lot of the world will watch but most of us are far too selfish to be happy that our lives are paused for nearly 2 weeks while all this happens. A lot of people are more interested in whether or not they'll get a paid day off work!

Apparently the mourning is going on for 7 days after the funeral. How that will work with sport I'm not sure , if this week is cancelled and they resume after the funeral we will be the first match . Yes it would be nice if we had 10 days off a payed, I'm not a royalist so it would be a bit ipicritical of me having time off

I have always been against the monarchy but what respect I had for the queen went out the window after Diana's death and my decision was vindicated by her protection of her second son, absolutely disgusting. I agree with you re pausing our lives though.

Everybody makes mistakes, even the so called great and good. I think the Queen did far more good than harm which is a massive improvement on many previous monarchs. Another thing, after covid I think most people have had enough of hitting pause. I'm pretty sure HerMaj would understand that too.

Fair comment. I have always preferred an elected head of state but it will not happen here . Oddly, I am in line with what fire boy is saying .

I used to think that they were wrong staying in Balmoral when Diana died but there was a documentary yesterday which explained it differently and it did make me reconsider. It said that she wanted to protect the kids from the hysteria that was happening in the rest of the country and wanted them to be someone where they would be away from that to grieve in peace. I’d never thought of it like that and, I think she was right, The bizarre way the public reacted to Diana’s death was incredible. This was a woman where the day before people were lapping up the newspapers calling her ‘Queen of Tarts’ She was quite to try to isolate them from that. Maybe she should have come back earlier, but her first thoughts were her grandkids. Having them walk behind the coffin though was so cruel.
