| Those not to bothered about Wales (football) on 19:03 - Sep 21 by jack247 | Paraphrased - Want Wales to win but the Swans is much more important. That probably goes for most of us on here to be honest. I’m still really looking forward to the World Cup though. |
I think the fact Wales rarely get to the big tournaments makes them so much more special. I am desperate for us to get a few wins in Qatar (even though i won't be going there).

More likely to beat Iran and USA than England for sure.

As fourth group seeds (think it would have been third, but they took the lowest from us, Scotland and Ukraine), it’s a fantastic draw. We could have had France and Denmark, Argentina, Mexico and Poland, Spain and Germany etc etc. No reason we can’t finish second in that group.

Slot the English or take a point and it’s on.

Every game will be tough, its a world cup. Depending on how the supposed "air conditioned pitches" go I'd imagine Iran and USA will be able to adapt to the climate a lot better than us.

I think we should be winning our first two games. England definitely should. If it’s just a shootout to see who tops the group, then why not? USA will be tough, we’ve got to be favourites there though

How did the final table look last time we were in a group with England.

I agree, it will be tough. While it could have been a lot worse, it’s far from the easy draw a lot of people think it is. Iran have qualified for a number of World Cup tournaments and have finished third in their group a number of times. The States have a fair few players who are with very respectable clubs in Europe’s top leagues, they are also ranked 14th in the world. England are a strong outfit with strength in depth. We’ve a squad with a dozen or so players from the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1 and Bale. It’s going to be very tough but with hard work, some grit, determination and a bit of luck we can get out of the group. We also need Page on top of his game.

It’s hard to say, but possibly. I know a few going to Italy who are Swans fans to watch England, some are English mind.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

It is. Some of us see Swansea City, the team representing the place we grew up.,the place of family, old schools, old childhood friends, chapels and Band of Hope ,first snog down Bracelet Bay car park, as the priority. No contest for many but few have not the guts to say so on here. Going on the lash in a foreign land, spouting out of tune songs and uffing out the replica shirt, isnt really supporting Wales .It's a day out-a pyss up albeit one that says what great fans .

Did you not notice the threads on politics, current affairs, Welsh independence, the royals and Hannes Wolf then? Or is our country being in their first World Cup in lots of our lifetimes, represented by Swans players past and present less relevant to SCFC?

Of course you can. Swans first for me and probably most on here, but absolutely nothing wrong with supporting club and country. No different to enjoying rugby but football mattering more

Yeah absolutely. After the Swans I probably get more excited about the Lions tour and the Ryder Cup than any other sport event, I put them both ahead of the World Cup too. It's not compulsory to love international football but it's not forbidden either, each to their own.
