| Those not to bothered about Wales (football) on 08:56 - Sep 23 by Catullus | Yeah absolutely. After the Swans I probably get more excited about the Lions tour and the Ryder Cup than any other sport event, I put them both ahead of the World Cup too. It's not compulsory to love international football but it's not forbidden either, each to their own. |
Completely agree with that. I’m making an exception this year, but I prefer those two competitions to any international football tournaments, as well as champions league or anything Swans or Wales aren’t in.

| Those not to bothered about Wales (football) on 21:59 - Sep 21 by majorraglan | I agree, it will be tough. While it could have been a lot worse, it’s far from the easy draw a lot of people think it is. Iran have qualified for a number of World Cup tournaments and have finished third in their group a number of times. The States have a fair few players who are with very respectable clubs in Europe’s top leagues, they are also ranked 14th in the world. England are a strong outfit with strength in depth. We’ve a squad with a dozen or so players from the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1 and Bale. It’s going to be very tough but with hard work, some grit, determination and a bit of luck we can get out of the group. We also need Page on top of his game. |
The heat in Qatar will be a massive leveller, we really need to be in top shape to compete. Unfortunately i think we have a few coming to the end of their time in the team, we are desperate for some to step up Nd replace Bale and Ramsey.

Can’t argue with any of that, but I still think Iran and the USA have more to fear from us than we do from them. Win our opening two games then lose comfortably to England

The first game is huge, we need to at least get a draw against USA. Beat Iran and that might just be enough to see us through.

England are diabolical at the moment. Wales can seriously annoy them.

I really believe England will drop points in the first 2 games and we won't a draw could be enough for us to top the group, again. The matches have got some strange kick off times, local time.

Bale, James, Johnson - Cymru can hurt them.

If they had strength in depth they wouldn’t be in the nations league relegation spots.

One thing I feel safe saying about the USA team, they will all be very fit. If anyone copes with the heat it'll be them. That's why they'll be a threat, when us Europeans are wilting they'll still have some left in the tank. Some of their players are very good too. Perisic? Iran will be used to the heat too, this will be harder than some think.

It probably was. USA and Iran both have artificially high rankings. Not suggesting they are bad teams, but both above Czechs, Ukraine, Poland, Austria and Hungary, who look likely to reach the Nations league finals.

Thank you, again, I don't pay too much attention to internationals, anything not Swansea really I rarely bother with. The World Cup has my partial attention.

The same fixture in the Euros in 2016 was a must see event , some matches pass me by .

There's too many "itches"! Pulisic is still at Chelsea AFAIK (there was talk of him moving) and Perisic (Croatian) is now at Spurs.

But you appear blind to the fact they just got relegated. ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ Dont mix up Premier League quality with England. Mo Salah, KDB etc can play, but it kills Englands strength in depth at the very top level. The only thing they ever won was in their back yard in 1966. Shirley that must tell you something…? A great football nation in their own minds. Its their club teams that are world class - its not the same thing.

No chance of the mid 80’s welsh side being better than the Bale era. The recent qualifications suggest i am onto something….

Morning Killy. No,my point was that the talent we had throughout the team in the 80 swerve stronger. We had a truly world class goalkeeper for a start ,a centre half of the calibre of Ratcliffe ,Rush and Hughes up front . We were robbed for a start in the Jock stein death game with that penalty
