There’s a lot of the big games mentioned on here, and it’s understandable, we’ve had some magnificent days.
But Chesterfield away in the play offs ? ( I think ) Leon Knight scored a belter. Or may well have been the last game of the season but I just recall it as a wonderful day out full of football culture and a win. Can anyone remember that game ? John the Mong as he was called was ejected. Then let back in via calls of ‘Free the Mong’ I know it’s unnecessary now, but so is John Cleese nazi walk.
Shoot me.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Chesterfield to get to division 2 for me can still see that lovely floated cross from Danny Bartley and Tosh rising to head home magical.

Thanks for that the other promotions were incredible as well Preston at Deepdale Reading at Wembley Torquay in the play off edit nearly forgot Bury we have been spoilt over the years.
But that game at the Vetch caps it all for me probually in the minority but there you go sentimental old fool that I am.

Thing was the promotion the season before was kind of expected. The one against Chesterfield took us back to what many believed was our rightful home - the Second Division. So yes a fantastic and memorable promotion so soon after being in the doldrums Can't imagine many thought what the next chapter would be

It started with Brazil v Italy 1970
That was a real high water mark for football, best ever World cup, best ever team, best ever player, best ever goal, all subjective of course but it's what I think.
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.
For Swans I would say beating Reading 4-2 at Wembley and beating Preston 3-1 up there both to reach the top division. For Wales I would say beating Belgium 3-1 to reach the Euro's semi finals. Other matches I would say Czechoslovakia 2-2 with West Germany in the European Championship final with Panenka scoring his chip to win it in the shoot out.

I loved the Plymouth away match in 1979 just before the Chesterfield match with Tosh's header...cracking day out on the train.......Jack's everywhere. A tear up in the park...

I must have passed you then, as I was on the train , following Roger Evans as he made his way through the carriages singing his song, I kept calling him Roger Davies it annoyed him a bit.

One not involving Swans or Wales. Cameroon v Argentina, Italia 90, Roger Miller. 1st time World Cup I can remember, I was around 11. Watched virtually every game, was fascinated. Prob still one of my favourite World Cups.
Milla wasn't it? yes that was a good WC, cameroon entertained us all.
We have been asked this loads of times and I still cannot pick out just one match. There have been so many great memories, I can maybe whittle it down to top 10.
