I can appreciate Keiths position and understand the commitment as volunteers.....but there does seem to be at times different tolerance levels for different posters
I understand Doc P can be overbearing at times but that,s I guess due his psyche most data nuts tend to be a bit OTT
We all have our differing opinions and sometimes those on here are not founded on data,,,,I was also taught to "argue" with data and facts so I do understand where he comes from sometimes but I do admit he can go OTT but he is rarely if ever insulting or abusive. |

Are people genuinely claiming that RM has altered the process under orders? Oh my.
What is more likely?
A. Martin finally realised after a year of dogmatism that what he was insisting upon wasn't working and that he had to change his system, but is a bit sheepish about it so doesn't want to come out and admit that so is basically claiming that this was the end plan all along, or;
B. He's been instructed from above (who would have the knowledge or authority to do so remains unclear) to change his entire professional outlook when no such thing previously happened in the more than a year he's been here already. Not only that, apparently he's been ordered to change his keeper. He's gone along with this entirely peacefully and quietly, which is entirely in line with the placid, non-antagonistic approach he's shown to others previously, mostly players.
If you genuinely believe that "B" is even remotely the most likely scenario, then I've got some magic beans to sell you. |

Surely the defensive side of the team last year was woefully whether it was lacking in pace, full of mistakes,unwillness to play loanees or an attempt balance the books by not playing big wage earners (was he told to get rid before new came in) He tried various combinations looked as if we had a saviour in the newly positioned Naughton only for it to come crashing down in games like Bournemouth when the loss of Cabango showed our inherent weakness.
He has new defenders this year which took time to bed in but still needs further Full or Wing backs and even defensive midfielders, has Martin made mistakes yes of course he has, could you really name a defensive team last year that could have lasted the season without a number of heavy defeats [Post edited 30 Oct 2022 16:28]

My current (but hopefully very soon to be my previous job) has shown me how fickle life can be. I have come into contact with many homeless people, I've spoken with them, found out some truly shocking stories (which may not be true admittedly, or at least nowhere near the full story) but 14 years back we went through harsh times and we were worried about losing our home.
Some of the stuff I read on here is not nice, some of it obvious rubbish. If that's what people need to project then I feel sorry for them.
Dr P is never outright insulting but often very disparaging, I can be at times too. Dr P though comes across as vain, arrogant and self important, that's my opinion. Opinions of me may be like that too. I don't know and I don't really care, I am who I am.
Russell Martin has been called cocky, arrogant and other things, maybe in his job you need that to a degree, it's not a job for shrinking violets that's for sure.
The only thing I know of Martin besides his pressers and stuff on here is that Matt Grimes thinks him a top, top bloke. | |
