Zante is nice (I’ve been to Laganas but real Greece is to be found in the Cyclades or Dodecanese islands. If you do go there take the island tour which takes in the Greek Orthodox monastery of Anafonitria and the amazing Village of Maxerado and its mysterious icon of Aghia Mavra (St Maura). And do eat octopus.

I’ve been there and Puerto Del Carmen (where myself and a workmate went in 1989 and believe we met Bez and Shaun or Paul Ryder on the beach - Bez was doing headstands) . It were proper surreal . It’s a great all round climate but I find the canary islands cold and soulless .

Yes it is a racist trope. The English go into deep personal loathing on an hysterical scale if the target is African or Asian except the right wing. It is gutter humour and not n my bag. I am sad to see my countrymen introducing these ethnic slurs to their children. The problem is English not Welsh.
