| Hip Replacement - Wait 5 Years or £15K 10:27 - Dec 15 with 1569 views | JACKMANANDBOY | My neighbour in Swansea informs me that she either has to wait 5 years or go private and pay £15K. She's in pain and would like to be walking again so she's paying. | |

| Hip Replacement - Wait 5 Years or £15K on 12:55 - Dec 15 with 1509 views | BarrySwan | I've lost count of the number of people who I've spoken to over the past few years including relatives who have been forced to fork out these sort of sums for a private hip replacement after being put on 3 or 4 year waiting lists in Wales. They were in so much pain that they felt that they had no choice including in some cases cashing in part pensions to pay for the treatment. Never mind, as long as we've got loads of cash to dish out £14 billion plus in foreign aid every year to the rest of the world as well as treating all those newcomers to these shores who've never contributed a penny to the NHS thats the main thing I suppose. | Hip Replacement - Wait 5 Years or £15K on 13:39 - Dec 15 with 1468 views | builthjack | Yet my mate in Hereford who lives 200 yards from the hospital has been waiting 2.5 years and still no sign of it. | |
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

That's the state of the NHS atm, I've heard of a few people dying in their 70s whilst waiting for treatment, this government does not give a flying f@ck for the elderly, they are a drain even though the vast percentage have paid their ni contributions and taxes, it's a disgrace.

Hopefully I'm not in the minority but in past month I have has an MRI , CT and a Pet Scan , all cancer related so maybe that part of the service can still provide a important service to those who need it , I sincerely hope so

Totally brilliant experience 1000% recommended and less than half the cost that's being quoted here. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Hip Replacement - Wait 5 Years or £15K on 17:22 - Dec 15 with 1377 views | Catullus | It can't be a surprise surely? Remember I had waited 5 years and 3 months when I finally gt my new hip in June 2020. We'd had covid and they were saying back then 5 years so my guess would be that 7 years is a more accurate prediction! | |

Hope all is well now. I had a similar experience was waiting nearly 2 years for a cataract operation I was basically blind in my left eye. I rang the waiting list line told them I was blind now in my eye and would have to go on the sick within 3 days I had a letter to go in . Did the same for my hernia saying it would put me on the sick again letter received within days had both done within two weeks. Work where happy only one spell of sickness. My Dad needed operation we contacted our local AM job done within months

Me too. I've had six scans in all and the full radio therapy treatment. The care, kindness and efficiency that I've received from the NHS is second to none. It's a shame that the NHS is struggling. We are so lucky in this country to have it.
