Looking at static caravans 19:00 - Dec 21 with 4332 viewsCountyJim

Mrs and me really fancy one we can't really go abroad as she's now caring for her mum, So we've been looking fairly local Jesus wept!! Looking like a minimum 5k a year in fees alone.

Any recommendations in Gower area for example.

As I said we can't travel to far perhaps hour to hour and a half

I thought about getting a static a while back, but the ground rent is eyewatering, some sites insist that you must renew your caravan after so many years.

Decided against in the end.

Getting more expensive these days. Whiteford Bay is a decent site, owners and family only and 50 week occupancy. You can sometimes get a deal on a short term static where someone has cut their lease short.
There are cheaper options further West if you can travel a bit further.

There was an article in Walesonline last month where an owner in Kiln Park was looking at a £9k annual fee - an increase of £2k. The full £9k fee equates to paying almost £180 a week which is serious dibs. I’m sure there must be sites out there which are much cheaper than that.

heard good things about this place too:

its just the wrong side of the Loughor Bridge, so could be cheaper than the Gower

He's needs to keep well away from Turk land, they'd need an interpreter to understand each other

It’s no fun.
They shake like Billyo
I also short circuited half the site in Royan by overloading the electrics which weren’t adequate

Ablutions can be distracting too . No fun enjoying Cornflakes and croissants the sound of faecal bombs getting jettisoned into the septic tank .

I’d rather stay in a Badgers sett

Jim think about a large tourer and site it on a 12 month deal. If you dont like a site you can move it. You dont even need to tow it, there are people who will do it for you. It works out a lot cheaper, it doesn't need to be new and you can always sell on if it doesn't suit you.

PM me if you like.

It may be worth exploring the possibility of buying a big touring caravan and going for a seasonal pitch at a camping site. Could work out much cheaper and if you didn’t like the site you could move your van elsewhere.

If you don’t need to be near the coast there are sites in my area going for about 3k a year.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Have mine sited a few miles from tenby around 2600 a year . Would avoid sites where you have to buy and sell from them as its top dollar when you buy and peanuts when you sell

Most of Swansea upsticks in the summer and head down there , tidy site , good club house ( saw Razor Ruddock and an even bigger Nev Southall there a few years back )

I've found the closer to the sea the more expensive , certainly in the case of Tenby etc . there's nIce and very popular site (caravanners Club ) in Rhayader, a mix of statics and tourers . Narberth north of Tenby has quite a few with good travelling times to the far west coast etc , ideal for us

Have one in between Solva and St David’s for the past 25 years, within easy walking distance of the Coastal Path, 2 miles from St David’s harbour (Porthclais) where I have a mooring for a small boat.
Changed the caravan 7 years ago, ground rent £2.5 K a year, a well kept site with no club house or swimming pool.
Very quiet site for most of the season except for school holiday time because the owners have opened up 2 large fields for campers.
Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else when the weather is good..just love the area.
