Well then, in order to relieve congestion on th M4 they are going to build 5 new train stations, most likely in South East Wales. Putting aside the obvious shafting of the rest of South Wales again, why do they think this will work?

1, trains are already packed and expensive, more stations won't help that.

2, it won't take the business traffic off the M4, reps will still use their cars, lorries will still need the roads and to the other road users it'll be a matter of finance and convenience. is the train cheaper and easier, if not they won't use it. More stations won't change those things.

Are the Senedd about to splash out millions on something that I personally believe to be a silly idea?

So an English nationalist Tory Brexit government wants to give Wales more money. Fair play they are good like that…..
See how ridiculous that is ?

In reality this Johnson playing games with devolution again.
They said the butchers apron 🇬🇧 Would fly on every govt building in Wales. It must fly above Y ddraig goch.
Their levelling up funding by-passes the senedd, and goes straight to local councils.
And now they want to fund the M4 relief road to embarress welsh govt.
All a game.

Drakeford would accept the extra funding, but he cant accept uk govt dictating spend in a devolved area.
And Johnson knows he cant accept on that basis.
Hence his offer.
All about gaming the situation.
Johnson knew he would never have to pay up.

Its a pish take and if you cant see that, then i have a bridge to sell you.

What utter rot! If you stepped on a dog turd you'd blame the Tories. The money was there to improve Welsh infrastructure and you think it's a game of spite.

Only in Wales will you find a new dualled road network which cost over 300 hundred million pounds to built and intended to as many other dual carriageways a 70mph speed limit reduced to to 50 mph to save the planet.

We are wasting our time, we watch a load of van life /road trip videos all around the World on you tube, there's no way many of these countries will be using electric vehicles for quite a long time yet.

The main trouble with politicians playing games its us the end user which tend to suffer . Drakeford may or maynot have received the money for the by pass but he turned it down it because of his political ideology wouldn't let him and not because he wanted to protect the great crested newt ( of which there were many found and recorded in the Ecological Connectivity Assessment of Settlements in Monmouthshire Report
10th May 2010 )

No.
The offer was made in bad faith by the pishing taking Johnson.

Thats all you need to know and remember.
And you are falling for the act ….

Unless you want - after 20 years of established practice - Westmonster pulling strings in devolved areas then the answer could only be ‘not on that basis’.

Welsh govt would accept the extra money to spend on its transport priorities but of course Johnson is not making that offer. Thats because he does not really give a damn about Wales. Its a game to posh fat boy Johnson.

May I remind you Johnson is no longer is in a position to make such an offer again so why you keep referring to him is a mystery , Drakefords decision has cost Wales a chance to drag itself into the 21st century so are you happy with that decision?
Can will you provide evidence that the money was offered in bad faith ?

We've established the transport infrastructure in Wales is the responsibility of the Senedd so with the recent announcement that to ease the traffic at the tunnels
that they plan to build 5 train stations ,do you think that's the right way to tackle the problem ,if so why ?

Well of course its bad faith if its offered publically for the M4 relief road only.
Johnson knew it was a populist thing.
Johnson was gaming it, you would think he might be busy doing useful things.

Give the extra money.
Let the elected welsh govt decide on how to spend it.
Because Transport is devolved.
Its not for uk govt to decide in wales - and Johnson knows this.
Wales did not vote for Johnson.
He would not make this offer.

You seem Incredibility naive for somebody old enough to vote.
Do you get taken advantage of a lot ?

Well the question is dumb.

At the time the offer was made Johnson was PM.
The fact he is not PM any more has no relevence.

I dont jump around answering questions that are entirely pointless.

Pretty irrelevant who was prime minister the offer was made as part of the UK infrastructure programme.
Just as it us irrelevant who was in charge of the EU when the EU offered to pay for the heads of the valley road as part of the EU regional infrastructure programme.

You have NEVER answered why it is acceptable for Senedd to accept UK taxpayers money when it came via the EU but not direct from the UK government.

Theres never a nuance with him it's Johnson, Tories, Brexit. Same old tub thumping! It's black or white! Money was there for the relief road which would have benefited the people of South Wales, possibly would have boosted business and created jobs and wealth. However his view is so blinkered he would rather cut his nose off to spite his face. Very odd.

Wales “ government” and Brexit ,both of whom have an appeal for xenophobes.

Actually, Wales and the Uk belongs where the majority of people vote for us to be. Many of those people who demand another vote on brexit (or a vote onWelsh indy) would never allow us another vote on devolution.

They're only democrats when it suits them.

The Welsh government has announced no new roads in Wales as a result of their year long review.
This of course will lead to more congestion, more pollution and of course result in job losses in the construction industry as well as a decrease in investment in Wales leading to more job losses. At to appease a tiny minority of greens.

I work in logistics in South Wales for a large US company, Labour have no idea on the pressure this puts on companies decisions to remain in the area never mind companies investing here.

It is really so unbelievably stupid it beggars belief.

They haven’t cancelled all road building projects, but quite a few have bitten the dust and they’ve set the bar for future projects at a very high level.

My personal view is that it’s bonkers, I totally get the need to be more energy efficient, environmentally conscious etc etc, but we also have to have jobs and a decent infrastructure. The shift towards electric cars will address some of the emissions issues etc and by the time we’re all electric we’ll be so far behind the curve we’ll be a backwater. This is mental.
