| Showdown talks this week for Russell Martin at Swansea City on 18:47 - Feb 11 by builthjack | If they couldn’t afford a few signings in the window, they certainly can’t afford to get rid of Russ. As I said many years ago, they haven’t got a pot to pee in of their own money. Chancers. |
With the money they saved in the window they probably can afford to get rid.

Totally agree that they should be able to releve the manager of his duties, should they so desire, using the money saved in Jsnuary.

They will not sack him, in the championship era of their tenure they have never sacked a manager and i don't think they will this time either, they do not care where the club is positioned in the league.

STID. Morning I read he was a “ cheap” choice . If we can’t afford to sack such an incompetent employee then we really are screwed Why did we not sell obefemi for cash up front or Whittaker. That money would have saved our season, possibly our league status It is mindless ownership

Apparently he wasn't a cheap option due to the compensation paid to MKD ? The money saved from not signing anyone in Jsnuary should be enough to sack him if they choose ? Whittaker was a strange one. No logic if there was a decent offer was there ? Obafemi I believe is more about ensuring we made a deal - any deal - which gets him off the books and gives us a decent profit, albeit we won't see it until the summer

Decent r3ply .Thanks . Having read we actually paid MKD for his services and then he brings in Fisher right away has clouded a bright day . Still sulking after Wales too. Long walk on a cold beach lies ahead today

All the figures were reported on here along with the huge profits made from the sale of Downes which Martin insisted on coming to Swansea when he joined the club. Millions of pounds of profit made by the Americans.

| Showdown talks this week for Russell Martin at Swansea City on 18:35 - Feb 13 with 572 views | QJumpingJack | if Martin is dismissed after Blackpool or Blackburn we should prepare ourselves for the fact it may take 3-4 weeks for a new manager to be appointed. The club have not learnt anything after every transfer window and I would not expect anything different when it comes to a new manager - lets not forget the Cooper-Eustace-Martin fiasco of Summer 2021. I would be amazed if they have someone lined up - ready to come in. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Apparently we are not to say Americans or Yanks ? I was told by someone on here we should call them the owners as their nationality doesn't matter ? Consider yourself told !!

Profit on transfers is a necessity to cover the losses elsewhere, it’s not a luxury. Profit in one section of a business to cover a bigger loss in another section is a net loss, not a profit. And it’s that larger net loss or profit that determines what can be made available to invest elsewhere. For example in the last set out accounts we lost £4.2m overall. That includes player sales and I believe parachute money was also in the last year. Every year we will need to make a transfer profit to remain operational, failing to do so will mean we are relying on the owners to put in money to keep the lights on, like they did this and last year with the CLN.

What! Told by whom? Is this for real. If so,then mighty sinister . It’s as if no criticism is allowed at all. Football, without fans whining, whining, complaining, overreacting or simply slagging off ,is nothing. It is part of our fabric

Don’t listen to him, he’s trolling again. A genuine descriptive term is fine. “Americans” is fine. “Yank owners” however is intended to undermine, as is inserting the word “American” before “owner” every-time you mention them. Their nationality has no bearing on anything. It’s that continual nationality focus that leads to ridiculous American based tropes like “they didn’t know you could get relegated”. That’s a very simple case of saying they are stupid based on their nationality and likely experiences. A bit like when people get offended when people mention the people of Liverpool being a certain way I suppose. If they were African and the same things were being done, it would be causing absolute outrage. I’ve seen people tell them to “Go back to America” many times, in far less polite terms. Imagine inserting “Africa” in that sentence. The club would be dragged through the virtue mud for the next decade. Discuss the issues not the nationality. [Post edited 13 Feb 2023 22:18]

For the answer to your question as to who Richie, lookat the post after mine. Others used the term Yanks on here with no comment or redress from Dr P. I used it and apparently I was a racist ? Can't make it up. Opinions are fine, but he constantly answers my comments with an oppositional view, then when I do the same he then accuses me of trolling him all the time ? Go figure

Strange how when you constantly follow me giving your view, it is fine, yet when I do the same to you it is trolling.? My point to OHL is proven that you challenge me, but not others, on the same point, as you made no challenge or comment to NL's use of the term Americans rather just owners? Or where others have used Yanks ( there have been plenty, though you chose not to challenge them ) Bit hypocritical don't you think ? If it really offended you (rather than you just being oppositional to me on purpose) you would challenge it whenever it is said and by whoever it is said ? [Post edited 14 Feb 2023 6:26]

You don’t give your view, you make points that have nothing to do with anything we are discussing which ruins the threads intentionally. This is why you took me off ignore, it’s what you used to do prior. I’m not offended by it. What made you think I was offended? Where was the term “Yank” used by him? Can you point it out?

I don’t think you have ever opposed a view have you? You just make silly points like “I have no interest in your view” and such like. Responses and expressions of the opposite view are not the same thing. You need to do more of the latter and less of the former, then people won’t call you a troll and accuse you of causing issues like they have the past couple of weeks.

We have had lots of discussions, yesterday for example, where I gave my views on the Play Off Final team ? Also many discussions on tge merits or otherwise of the owners or the manager ? Plenty of expressions of the opposite view to be found. The only person calling me a troll and accusing me of causing issues is you. No one else. "if martin has been backed as you say, why is it we have no right back need another striker anda bit of pace you must agree, ? there was on more than 1 window deals done and vetoed by the owners, why employ a C E O ( who says nothing ) a good recruitment guy and then after all their work veto the deal? why dontthey come over have face to face meetings sort out the problems and agree budgets and bugger off out the way and let people who know how to run a club in the uk run it? Martin must carry some of the blame and he has admitted it, for me and a few others i think untill these American , yank , or whatever owners change their spots we are going to struggle next season if Klopp or any top manager would struggle with these owners, Burch new the score thats why he left , im just giving my honest opinion not looking for a fight but being realistic" pete has just posted this on "Are the owners doing enough" thread. I look forward to you challenging him and accusing him of using a racist term, as you did me [Post edited 14 Feb 2023 6:49]

They weren’t really your views, they were silly biased views where you claim Grimes hasn’t improved in 2 years and Bidwell never played in midfield - because it promotes your anti Cooper narrative. Genuine discussion is most welcome, I have rarely seen it from you though. As I’ve responded to you every time you have said it… what makes you think I’m offended? You think challenging a view is the same as challenging a view with a salient and valid point, they aren’t. You are simply a poor imitator at the moment. Sharpen up son.

Clearly offended as you start using derogatory terms like "son" Laughable as you would never use such a term to posters such as Keith. Anyway as I said await your challenge to pete. Or will you prove my point it is just me that offends you and you are just being oppositional to me, and actually don't care or aren't genuinely offended when the term Yank is used ?

Why is that offensive? and why would you be offending me? Keith isn’t a troll last I checked, so people talk to him in a more civil manner. My position on all this “yank owners” stuff is clear, I don’t need to hunt down every offending party. As one of the most persistent contributors to this site you should lead by example, especially with your past xenophobia faux pas. Not offended by it in the slightest though son.

Sirjonalot, like Keith is an admin on her, yet you have spoken to him quite uncivilly many times. The reason you would not challenge Keith in the same way has nothing to do with his manner. It is purely because he is the owner and can of course veto your account should he wish.
