| 🦢Has Russell Martin got any choice but to do this ? on 07:52 - Mar 3 by magicdaps10 | Pinch of salt got to be taken with this one. Not heard anything about this one being that bad only Kerouac version.......lets be fair, Kerouac isn't the most reliable as he has proven on here and it wouldn't take much for him to jump on anything bad towards Martin, again he has a record of this on this forum. I am certainly not defending anyone here, I think as per quite a lot of things, what we have read from one poster shouldn't be classed as the actual fact especially considering no one else has said much regards the incident which would suggest to me that the incident wasn't that bad or as near to what Kerouac has explained.......surely more people would have heard and more talked about it would be. I just think it's another person, another poster who has gripe with Martin trying to put the bad seed into a forum and into people's heads.........Martin needs no help with that as present as he is doing a good enough job himself in regards to planting the bad seed 🙈😬😂 |
Totally agree. Nothing to see here

| 🦢Has Russell Martin got any choice but to do this ? on 08:00 - Mar 3 by Dr_Parnassus | You do realise Martin has confirmed it, don’t you? The only possible thing you could be suggesting is he didn’t tell the fan to “fk off”. Because everything else is confirmed on both sides. So let’s look at the facts. Fan shouting at Martin, Martin turns round (as he knew who it was as he confirmed) and you reckon he just said… nothing? Then we score, Martin turns around to him again (as confirmed by Martin) and again you reckon he just says… nothing again? Come on now Daps. Your version makes no logical sense. It’s as bad as described and I’m sure you are well aware. [Post edited 3 Mar 2023 8:02]

I never said Martin said nothing, I did state that's it's not a good a good reflection on himself regardless of what happened. All I am trying to suggest is that the fan surely played a bigger part in what Kerouac stated and he wasn't as innocent as is being made out. Martin only stated a fan was having a go, Martin clearly makes a mistake in his assessment of Fishers role in the goal but what he stated doesn't confirm the story by Kerouac. I have worked my view out by the facts and taken the other suggestions with a pinch of salt and from these type of situations know it's never as clear as one or another states unless there is a lot of voices saying the same thing and even then it can't always be taken as the truth. Whatever the truth, it hasn't reflected well on Martin on just his view on the Fisher role on the goal alone.....the rest doesn't look good on him either weather its the full story or not. Logically none of us on here know the story unless we were there, we all know not to take rumours as truth and take these things with a pinch of salt unless we had first hand experience in what happened at the time and we're there ourselves. It's a non debate, I didn't see it nor did you so can't really comment on what actually happened.

| 🦢Has Russell Martin got any choice but to do this ? on 19:10 - Mar 2 by KeithHaynes | Congreve it is then. Jasper etc will know better, but what choice is there ? Stick with players who are walking away in the summer or at least try and get the younger ones more experience. That’s the reality of this. We can’t sign anyone or would have if it’s that important, so we won’t. And it’s already known that next season younger players will be used. Swans fans really do like a moan at times without offering any alternative as proven in this thread. Just as we expected really. |
I for one couldn't do Martin's job nor would want to as i suspect all on here could or would , what can he do stick or twist with what he's got or try those who could step up as you say Jasper is better placed to answer that one In regards to how we play he appears not to be swayed by external pressures which ultimately will be his downfall , certainly with us , we don't have the personnel to play his way at his level but I suspect we would excel in a lower league .If he brings in too many of the U21's now that's where we will end up . We've recently received a couple of heavy defeats ( conceded more than the opposition even though we've scored ) playing Martins way . The physicality between all levels can be quite stark and the mental awareness more so , hence the saying men against boys , I still hoped he cold turn it around but in reality he's not going to under the conditions ihe has to work in.

Good post. I too would certainly fear for our future in this division if Martin chooses or is pushed into a position of using too many young players too soon. Not sure we will be seeing too many if any signings in the summer, so it is a worry

| Has Russell Martin got any choice but to do this ? on 14:50 - Mar 2 by Badlands | For decades my expectations were ro avoid relegation. What saddens me is a few seasons in the PL and fans consider anything less as the end of the world. We might be a proud club but we are and always have been a small club sometimes punching above weight, We have a small population catchment and to millions Swansea is pretty much the ends of the earth. |
Size is relative When a Prem club,we had style and played with swank

Had kids with him as well not a great look really. The fan had a go back and the stewards threatened to throw him out. |
Pity they didn’t throw him out. That fan would be a better manager

“All I am trying to suggest is that the fan surely played a bigger part in what Kerouac stated and he wasn't as innocent as is being made out.“ Based on what? Martin told everyone what the fan did, at no point did he accuse him of anything other than what the eye witness reported. Again: So that’s an eye witness telling you exactly what happened, Russell Martin telling you exactly what happened… but you don’t believe either and rather create your own story to make his reaction more forgivable? I’m afraid there is no wiggle room on this one as much as I appreciate certain people trying with all their might.

We did for two seasons … then Monk started the rot. Under Toshack we were really something in the first division for a season. So you are right about relativity - we were something special for three seasons out of 105.

Allied to other, let's say dubious declarations that he's made recently it doesn't paint a good picture.

“A mistake guv, honest”. The fact a manager can be that oblivious to patterns of play leading to key moments is awful. He deludes himself. It’s all smoke, mirrors and misdirection. If he’s not making excuses himself, his worshippers do it for him. He must be laughing his head off what he’s able to get away with. Tells our supporters to fk off, gets 1 point from both Rotherham and Stoke at home, lies about where the goal game from to prove a petty point… and he’s excused. Must be someone else’s fault, anybodies. Let’s not mention what he’s got away with in the last 18 months by flogging this “process” baloney to the gullible, who lap it up like some sort of Scientology manual.
