What maddens me is the way our expectations have been cynically lowered .
We are a proud club with a relatively recent history of a solid enough Premiership league team who beat ,in its time,all be so called big clubs .
Too right we should be attractive

What other choices does he have? Resignation. Resignation is a choice he has.
Chucking untested kids into a situation where the team is already demoralised, disorganised and hapless due to the eejit in charge is unlikely to improve the situation. There is only hope of improvement once he's gone. |

Depends who is available and willing to come.
No point in disrupting the squad even further if it had a negative affect making us finish even lower than we would with Martin here.
As much as I don’t rate him, he still had the ability to beat teams like Cardiff with this system. We need 7 more points.

I do not understand why the owners ( the engaged ones) are any different to the fans like me. They are bigger fans than me because they are heavily invested in the club. £16m whopping million extra.
They have business principles and are currently making their workforce graft for their pay. "sweating the assets". Martin wanted new player while Patterson was sitting on his backside and Whitaker telling people he wanted to play for Plymouth.
They then hear the players are "anxious" because they only have 4 -16 months on their deals with two three having turned down very generous extensions. The 18 man squad (apparently down to bare bones) only has 11 games left ad included no teenagers or academy players) .
Martin will have to accept some company in the dug out to help him deal with the roster and work out why this team has huge problems wining football games in the present . His young defence was supplemented by two young defenders Darling and Sorinola. Blaming results on youth will not wash and Martin chose this option.
After two full seasons there is no future only the present. The future is the present. Martin needs to point to signs of progress in the metrics.Martin is running out of reasons for failure. |  |

Just who is ready to step up , Congreave imo is strong and skilful enough to make his mark but Martin doesn't trust him Cullens now slipped back to having the odd minutes and if he doesn't trust them why will he give the likes of Cotterill a chance now when he's had more than enough opportunities earlier , the forthcoming out of contract players haven't just become out of contract players .It looks like Martin no longer can get a tune out of older players m not sure that will improve now | |

I read that yesterday, shocking behaviour from him and his staff. First reaction after scoring appeared to be to call that fan names for celebrating the goal (which had nothing to do with Fisher as he claims). | |

1) The whole stadium seemed to be frustrated with Fisher playing us into trouble
2) After the 3rd time Fisher played a suicidal pass the fan stood up and shouted something like;
"Get him off! You must have a youngster who can do better!"
3) Martin, stood on the touchline turned around and told the fan to;
"f**k off!"
4) The fan then responded;
"£400k? £10.5k a week!? You are taking the piss out of us!!"
5) 5 mins later we finally string some passes together at pace and we score...I don't recall Fisher
playing a part in that goal at all (you can't actually see the 'highlights' on the club site now either)
6) Everyone in the stand gets to their feet and claps the goal.
7) Martin and his coaching staff turn around and start mouthing off and making gestures to the fan Martin had told to f**k off (the fan had children with him)
8) Once the clapping died down the fan returns to his feet and shouts something like;
"Think you've achieved something wonderful do you? You are supposed to score a goal at home to Rotherham"
9) Staff on the bench have a word with the stewards and they come over to tell the fan that if he doesn't stop abusing Russell Martin he (and the children) will be thrown out.
They actually asked the fan to consider the fact that Martin's family are there and don't want to hear 'abuse'....it was Martin that initially shouted "f**k off!" to a fan and his kids, the irony.
10) The fan could be heard replying that Martin "is a highly paid football manager and I pay his wages...I regret renewing now....he must be very sensitive!" etc.
11) All of the fans sat in that section, including me, start defending the fan and his right to voice his opinion at the football. Stewards start arguing with the stand (to be fair, a difficult situation that they were put in). Then they toddle off back to the bench once the fan had agreed to "tone it down".
12) Even though we were winning it was a toxic atmosphere at half-time and the staff were still looking over at this fan.
13) The fan is quiet as a mouse in the 2nd half, I watched him closely, he rarely clapped never mind shouted anything (wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't asked for his money back this week and we lose another season ticket holder).
14) We continue to play shite and Rotherham inevitably equalize. The fan said nothing, we all shouted plenty though. The bench go silent.
15) We spawn a lucky point at home to Rotherham after one of the most shambolic halves of football I've ever seen...the half that Martin seems actually pleased by.

Not really. You don’t know exactly what was said or in what context or tone? I’d reserve judgement until I knew the precise facts but I’d also support any manager who responded to personal abuse as most of it is done in a cowardly and unacceptable manner. | |
