Despite it all, I still think he's at least capable of being competent. The team is utterly bereft of confidence and competence. The blame for that lies at the feet of Russell Martin.
Do I think he's a good keeper? No. Do I think he's a terrible keeper? Not really, although I think he's capable of playing terribly.
With confidence in himself and confidence in the defence in front of him (also confidence of the defence in him) he can probably do a job. There were some decent saves in there from him today. He's just the first target in a team playing awfully and it's become a sort of self fulfilling prophecy as a result. |  |

I am not so concerned about the price we paid for him, had he been what we needed.
Sadly as you say the main reason he seemed to have been brought in was to play the ball on the floor out from the back.
Fair enough for Martin wanting to put his own stamp on the game.
However, he should have acknowledged sooner it wasn't working and got all the players, including Fisher, playing to their strengths.
That he didn't has led to where we are now sadly | |

He's not struggling at present though. He's struggled since he was signed.
He was signed as our marquee signing of the Jan 22 transfer window and has been poor since day 1. His best "save" of that season was one he knew nothing about where the ball ended up between his elbow and body when he was facing the opposite way.
He may turn out to have a decent career in the lower leagues but we aren't a lower league club yet. His confidence is clearly shot to pieces but that's partly because he's playing at a level far above his ability. | | | |

He was brought in and immediately chucked into a suicidally stupid defensive passing system that he got blamed for within about one half of football and has been targeted for ever since. The irony is that his distribution is actually quite good when he's allowed to use it more normally. He's struggling to dominate his six yard box and a lot of that is down to confidence and nobody knowing what their roles are.
Again, I'm not claiming he's a good keeper because he's clearly not. I am saying that in a better organised side he could probably be a capable benchwarmer. | |

Ye buts that's his job he just doesn't do basics right,won't come for crosses he's a sh!those,and if he ever do he's hesitant and goes back his line,too hesitant coming close angles down..he's not a presence and gives any backing confidence,he's making basic keeper mistakes too often ,yesterday,even stokes 3rd goal other week went straight through his hands..worst keeper I have ever seen for us and seen some dross... | | | |

Sorry down arrowed by mistake . I think he's a poor keeper , he displays very little presence , certainly doesn't command his rea seemingly welded to his line , his communication to his defence is poor and considering the amount of protection afforded to keepers in todays game shows a distinct lack of willingness to come to claim the ball.IMO | |

A goalkeeper is normally the bed Rick of a good team,one in which his defenders gave confidence .
If he and the others are being told to play as they,as they are, then they should man up and confront him.
They can’t all be sent out on loan,benched or have their contracts terminated
We are at a stage when we need to be brave,both as players and fans

The goal was a series of non challenges. Piroe do not harrass after the turn over, Sorinola gave the winger a free pass to cross twice. Centre back spectated not competing for free balls. Fisher did not do the absolute basics with a soft shot.
