The proper Jack's want Chris Davies 23:33 - Jun 2 with 4019 viewsmagicdaps10

Night tonight with some proper Jack's and it was a resounding call for Chris Davies.
Young, knows the club and wants to play football, one being a guy with a foot well and truly in the club.

Can't say I disagree with their opinion.

Poll: Are the owners doing enough for Swansea City

If fans want him you can guarantee Levien won't, we need him gone, we're not gonna improve with him here pulling those long strings from across the pond.

I'm all for sustainability its the only way forward for a club like us, but with him at the helm, we'll be struggling to stay as a mid table Championship Team in my opinion.

Chris Davies is a definite for me, personally.
I don’t have a realistic second choice.
Brenda and Chris is too far fetched for me to wish for.

I would like someone with a bit more experience and a reputation for his style with a degree of success, chancing another rookie with our squad getting weaker as the years roll is not a good equation for me.

Even when you know, you never know?

I find the idea of next season starting with him in charge as extremely exciting. Love to know what Curts and Leon think

Its a bit like Christmas, there are many things you would like but you end up with what your parents can afford.

Our parents can afford better than a rookie with compo from Southampton and recent investment.

They can but they won't pay though.

I hope we get chris, he knows the club and he will try and play football with the ball on the floor.

I think it's becoming the clear option for us now.

He is young, he has been involved with clubs in Wales, England and Scotland.

Think he ticks the most boxes for us.

i'd take him too. he may be a rookie manager but he has plenty of good experience with Rodgers.

To give some credit to martin he has built a foundation, all our players are comfortable on the ball, if we et davies and he can add pace, can move the ball more quickly and not be scared to go forward, it could be good.

He'll get the same chance our other managers have gotten, will be supported until he doesn't deserve it anymore.

Surely we can’t afford anyone with style, experience AND success on their resume?

I am much more interested in someone with tactical knowledge.
Graham Potter was a Godsend IMO. I absolutely loved the way we could change tactics completely from one half to the next. His tactical nous was fantastic.

Cooper then came, who imo was the other end of the scale. No tactical sense whatsoever. A sort of poor man’s Alex Ferguson, who didn’t care or know much about tactics, but was a good man manager and could get the players up for winning games, which is why I think he was such a good cup manager.

Martin has tactics at the heart of his game, but he is just beginning as a manager and only had a plan A when he came to us. He now has a plan B also, and will just get better and have more ideas, with more experience.

Chris Davies, after reading various articles about him and by him, is VERY tactically based and is the perfect fit for me.
A rookie, so cheap. Yet so much tactical experience and nous, that eclipses most championships managers.
This is what we need.
Not s journeyman with loads of experience like Tony Mowbray or the like we get linked with all the time.

He’s the best option for no compensation.

I’m sure it doesn’t fit the ‘delighted’ agenda though.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

If I am ever selling my house won't have you as the estate agent.

Muscat would be my pick we don't need a complete novice with a big rebuild ahead.

Davies may be a novice manager, but far from a novice coach . And been around the top leagues for many years, with various clubs.
Bet he has a lot of respect and contacts to help a rebuild

A word of caution, was only an analyst here and at Liverpool until Brendan and Colin Pascoe fell out, Brendan moved him up to number two and Chris has followed him ever since and never stood on his own two feet. As we know, a number two doesn't call the shots on tactics, he might suggest a different approach but that would be about it.

Good luck to Chris if he does get the job.

To be able to see the changes that need to be made is equally as decent as being able to make them for me.

Absolutely, the best way to learn is to shadow someone and see the job done. If the mentor is good then the student could be better.

The club need to get am manager to build on the work of Martin. it took him two solid year of blood sweat and tears to get any sort of consistency that was seen at the end of the season. This included a few periods of dark reflection. The squad came through it and came on strong. They are believers.

If i was an up and coming progressive possession based manager I would be desperate for the Swansea job. I would be inheriting a job where Martin has spend 24 months doing the "hard yards" and groomed his players to play a certain way and weeded out those who could not perform it.

Swansea are like the "Laudrup point" in a league below with a number of promising young professionals and hardened pros. A few y good prospects coming through the academy will be knocking on the door very soon.

Wise sage since Toshack era
