There is no way on earth he'll get offered a new contract.if he'd been a racehorse they'd have shot him.

Clearly a talented player who through no fault of his own isn't physically robust enough for the rigours of professional football at this level.

Some players can play through anything, like Ash Williams and Matt Grimes. Others aren't that lucky in the genetic lottery. It's a shame.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

You have to feel for the lad, it seems his body is just not up to being a professional footballer. Technically so gifted and committed it's a real shame, so many dreams shattered. Hopefully the PFA will support him and encourage him to move into coaching if he so wishes. I wish him good luck in all he does.

Surely he must retire now. Purley from a club point of view we cannot keep paying a player who's only available 4-5 times a season.

He should move into coaching and the club could support him in that.

A real shame, the lad is clearly talented but given his previous injury record fairly predictable.
Who's decision was it to sign him & give him a 3 year contract, Cooper was on his way out & it wasn't Russ?

The positive is football provides other outlets for players, unlike many other professions when your knacked your gone.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Possibly continue playing at a lower level where the rigours of training and intensity of play is less demanding.
Such a shame when talent can not be fully developed because the body isn’t robust enough.

He is talented but simply not built to sustain his job.
He really should have his contract terminated as he seemingly will never be right .
It is a shame for sure

Come on guys look on the bright side , have faith , a bit of rest and deep heat and Iam sure he'll be right as rain . In fact the physios should smother him in Fiery Jack before sending him back out on the pitch .

Poor lad. His body’s obviously not up to it.
Time to pay up his contract to free up wages for replacement.

How would paying up his contract free up wages, surely the cost is the same?

3 years on the back of a dubious injury record at Bristol City. Excellent on his day and no doubt a decent chap but that was a short sighted decision.

Possibly, but why would he do that? There’s nothing in it for him because he’s not going to pass a medical anywhere else I wouldn’t have thought.

Would you insure Liam Walsh? Walsh has until the end of the season in employment. It is obviously bad luck but is there any level of personal responsibility or club responsibility?

Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy used personal experts to got them though soft tissue injuries. "Dutch Ray" in Bellamy's case and he reckoned UK football teams were clueless at this. Did Duff over work him in pre-season? .

Jordan Garrick has loads of issues at Swansea but none at Swindon, Plymouth or Forest Green Rovers to date. His injury record improved when he left Swansea.

There could be insurance but the premiums could be high.

Who could blame Duff for a player with a long hstory of injury, the players have to be fit and Walsh was a real gamble when we took him on.

I dont remember Garrick's injury record here apart from a hamstring inhury that ket him out a while. That was nothing to do with Duff either.

Of course he's insured, all players are, safeguarding club and player against career ending injuries

I would have risked it. The boy is class.
Free transfer. Surely he will play more than 9 games in a season for us.
Oh well, maybe not. Shame.

He’s bound to be insured. I think it’s mandatory

It's not as simple as saying that he (or us) can claim on the insurance.

He'll be insured against career ending injuries. Obviously. The question is whether this injury, or indeed any other injury that he's suffered can be deemed "career ending" for medical and insurance reasons.

It's not hard to imagine an insurance company refusing to pay out if it's an injury that he can theoretically recover from, which I'd imagine that most of his injuries have been. I would be very surprised if you can claim that simply being injury prone, as he is, is career ending. Not without paying ludicrous premiums.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
