it's the ONS though, people believed them when it was bad news. Surely it is more significant because it relies on the actual evidence and not the guesswork of the previous "estimate"?

The SNP blamed it on a lack of wind resulting in lower electricity generated from wind turbines. The SNP want to stop all new investment in new gas and oil fields which has resulted in a fall in new investments in North Sea oil fields.

We post when we want. We dont jump around for you, thats for sure ….. sit down please …. ‘Yes, thankfully our schools aren’t falling down, prices in the shops don’t rise on every visit, our waterways aren’t full of sewage, public money isn’t being siphoned off into Tory pockets & rights hard won over the years aren’t being decimated by a government only intent on enriching itself & its donors & not the people who elected it. Oh…’ ‘ and it makes not an iota of difference to the ordinary person who is still suffering soaring costs, crumbling schools & infrastructure, struggling NHS, effluent filled rivers & coasts, food bank use & poverty rising while the 1% you support get richer’. Taunt them and they will come Why are you here if not to answer my post. On the subject of which you seem to have failed to answer. Try again, the Uk economy isn't doing as bad as you said, isn't the worst in the G7 and isn't as bad as Germany. That is a reality. The context to that is that many people are still struggling with the cost of living while a useless government does very little to help. I await your next "not jumping around" post PS, hang on, reading your posts, every time you are proved wrong, which is a lot, you jump to something else instead of answering the asked questions! PPS, Currently a range of powers already devolved to the National Assembly for Wales and the Welsh Government are operated within an EU regulatory framework. These include agriculture, fisheries, environment and economic development so much of what you moaned about is Wales responsibility. Hmmm. [Post edited 3 Sep 2023 13:26]

OOOh...."bounce" Now then, Westminster gives Wales money to spend and the Senedd has the responsibiity for spending that money. Now what about the 150 million Drakeford sent back because of negligence? What about the NHS money Drakeford has spent on things besides the NHS? Why is the Welsh economy struggling because of a lack of investment in infrastructure by the Senedd? Who takes responsibility for what the Senedd does? Because all Drakeford does is blame Wetsminster. Will you answer the questions and not go jumping about with the whataboutery? Rhetorical, I know the answer

Inflation will start to drop as consumers run out of money and limit their spending. We will have a recession then which will bring the prices down Hopefully house and car prices will tumble

Houses will take a minor fall before returning back to where they are. I can't see new car prices coming down unless the electric car date changes. There is going to be a massive demand before they stop selling petrol/ diesel.

Who said it was doing well? It's just doing better than anyone said it was. There are still ongoing problems with inflation AND we shouldn't forget the perverse profiteering by corporate goons. The prices don't need to be so high, record profits are being announced and then we're told it's nt to do with hgher prices, yeah right. The interest rate is high to try and get inflation down, as long as the corporates keep profiteering, inflation won't drop. Oil prices, the OPEC goons could pump more but they are restricting supply to keep prices artificially high.

If it is doing better then inflation should fall but I suspect they will want to make more money from us, noticed the fuel has crept up over the last few weeks.

As I said, it's profiteering. The Saudi's are pumping below their OPEC quota which is having the effect of reducing supply and forcing prices up, not forgetting the whole Russian thing, https://www.reuters.com/busine

Which is why we need to end our reliance on their oil. It’s going to take time, but we should be diversifying and moving over to other sources of energy. Starmer previously mentioned a sovereign wealth fund wind generating electricity supply, if it was big enough that could help keep prices down a bit.

None of the utilities should ever have been privatise, they should all have been run as not for profit and used to keep prices down. Ending our reliance on oil is going to take us well past 2030.

"don't keep writing the UK off because it suits your agenda?", you say and then complain that 'none of the utilities should ever have been privatised'. This seems like 'trolling', arguing for one thing and then in the next breath arguing the opposite.
